Confused
Summary: Nico was confused to say the least. Over the course of his life as a halfblood, he developed a crush on Percy Jackson. This is how they got together.
Warnings: angst, let me know if I missed anything
A/N: This is the last project I have for Percico Weekend! Constructive criticism is always welcomed :)
When Nico was at Westover Hall with Bianca, at the school dance, he met Percy. That was his first crush. He was really confused at first. He thought that Percy was cool. But it was more than that. He wanted to get to know him more. He tried to talk to him, but the girls that saved them from that… thing… told him to talk to Grover instead. When he arrived at camp, he was really excited. He was eager to learn to sword fight. He was also glad that he might get to be around Percy more…
But then Banca went away. Percy had promised to keep her safe. But when they came back from their quest, Percy told him that Bianca had died, Nico wanted to be angry --and part of him was-- but he didn’t understand why he wasn’t at the same time. So, he ran away.

When Nico ran away, he was sad, angry, and most of all confused. He thought he wanted revenge, he thought it would make him hurt less. By now, he understood that he had feelings for Percy, but he didn’t like them. So he suppressed them instead. And, after a while, he thought that they were gone.

Nico was settled. He had found Hazel and Camp Jupiter. He wasn’t settled at camp, but he was glad he had found Hazel. His feelings for Percy had resurfaced. He tried to ignore them, but he couldn't. He didn’t plan on doing anything about it, but then Percy showed up and ruined everything.

Nico was back at camp. Things had quieted down after the War with Gaia. There hadn't been many quests. Nico had to admit, it was nice (that definitely wasn’t because he and Percy had started hanging out more). It was a beautiful summer day. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, Annabeth was totally checking Piper out. So, Percy and Nico were hanging out at the lake, when Percy told Nico to follow him. They walked along the beach, when Percy stopped.
"What are you doing..?" Nico asked. Then, Percy got down on one knee, and took out a Ring Pop.
"Nico di Angelo," Percy said, almost falling over. "Will you be my boyfriend?"
"Um… What?" Nico asked, dumbfounded. "I-I think I'm gonna go."
"Nico, wait!" Percy called after him. "Come back!"
"What?" Nico asked, a tear falling down his cheek. He was sick of being tricked. Percy could never love him back. He knew that.
"What the hell was that?" Percy asked, irritated. "Why did you run off like that?"
"I'm sick of being played with, Percy." Nico replied, attempting to turn away but failing because Percy had a tight grip on his shoulders.
"Nico…" Percy said, slightly hurt. "I would never… why would you…"
"Because you know I love you!" Nico screamed, finally pulling away and running towards his cabin.
Once Percy came to his senses, he ran after Nico. When he caught up to him, Nico was full on crying. All those years of suppressing his emotions, and Percy had the nerve to get his hopes up.
"Nico, I really do like you. I would never, ever do that to you," he was now holding Nico's hand, "So, Nico, will you be my boyfriend?"
“I'm sorry, Percy," Nico said. “I don’t deserve you.”
"Don’t say that, Nico" Percy told him as he pulled him into a hug.

A year later, Nico and Percy sat on the beach holding hands. “Do you remember when we first got together?” Percy chuckled.
“Yeah...” Nico looked down.
“You were so upset.” Percy said. “Why was that?
“Well… I guess I just couldn’t handle the fact that you liked me back.” Nico explained.
“You know I’ll always love you, right?” Percy said, leaning his head on Nico’s shoulder.
“Yeah,” Nico answered. “And I’ll always love you.”
Percy pecked Nico’s lips. “I know.”
Sea Green Scene
This is my own creation for the Percico Event. For the past two years I’ve been working on a Merman!Percy story on Wattpad and Ao3 called Sea Green. This is more of a deleted scene of that story, but you do not have to have read anything from the story to read this. This scene can stand on it’s own perfectly fine.
They sat on the edge of the dock, staring out over the vast blue sea. Being around dinner time, the beach was not nearly as crowded as it should be, and on this part near the private homes they were completely alone. Nico watched the distant waves for a while before looking over at Percy’s face.
His tanned features were set, his green eyes focused and his dark eyebrows drawn together. Nico nudged him with the toe of his sneaker, “what are you thinking?”
“I want to go for a swim,” Percy said before looking over at Nico. Nico’s eyebrows shot up and Percy smiled at the expression. “You don’t want to swim with a merman?”
Nico looked back out into the water. The calm waves were perfect and they still had a few hours of sunlight left in the day. No person was surfing, only one boat was still out miles to the right. “Yeah,” he said, “let’s go.”
Nico stripped down to his swim trunks while Percy left all his clothes on the dock. “Ready?” Percy grabbed Nico’s hand and they jumped in together. The water was cold but contrasted well with the day’s heat. Nico felt their hands separate and quickly wiped the water from his eyes to find where Percy had gone.
He was a few feet away, splashing around right under the water. Before Nico could call out to him, Percy’s head broke the surface. His black hair was plastered to his forehead and his grin from ear to ear. “I missed this!” he called. Nico swam over to him and could see the shimming green under the water.
The current gently knocked against Nico’s chest as he steadied himself with the sea’s motion. He had just felt Percy’s tail flutter by his leg when he was surprised by Percy’s kiss. Nico’s senses were full of the salty taste and smell of sea, but in no way did it distracted him from the warm sensation throughout his body. Suddenly the water wasn’t as cold and the evening sun was brighter than before.
When Percy pulled away, they were both breathless. Percy’s green eyes were shinning, his smile relaxed. While schooling his own facial features to make sure he did not look love sick, Nico realized he was no longer swimming on his own. Percy’s arms around him were the only thing keeping him from slipping under the surface. He quickly gained his own movement back. “Ready to swim?” he asked, his voice so soft to his own ears he was afraid Percy didn't hear him.
“Yeah,” Percy replied. “I’m ready.”
Percico Event Announcement!
This summer I’ll be hosting another Percico Event! I hope many of you are excited to create ideas and share them in August for Percico Weekend! This year will be more laid back considering it’s more last minute than last year, but I hope you are equally excited to join.
The event will take place on August 10th, 11th, and 12th for Percico Weekend. That is three days to post your submission and a little over a month to prepare it! And don’t forget when you post your creation to tag it with #Percico Weekend and #Percico Event
We are going with the theme of summer (or winter, for those of you who live on the other side of the globe). For most of us, it’s summer, so your creation should go with the summer theme. However, if you do live in a place where its currently a different season, feel free to work with that season.
With summer in mind, you can write about vacations, camp, AUs of of all kinds taken place during the summer! It’s a time of beaches, Camp Half-Blood, and long relaxing days in the sun. Or it can be the opposite, with trips to new cities, going on a quest, or keeping each other company during a thunderstorm. The possibilities are endless. And since it’ll be August, don’t forget celebrating Percy’s birthday! (A list of inspiring ideas will be posted soon if you’re interested.)

The point is to release new Percico content out into the world and flood the tags full of what we all wish there is more of.
I will be answering any and all questions so don’t be afraid to ask! I’ll also be thinking of some fun activities for us to do to hype up the event and make Percico weekend in August as impactful as possible. I hope many of you are thinking about participating this year!

The fanfic I wrote for the @percicoevent. Originally intended to be a drabble, this became a 6.5k fic about Percy and Nico growing, maturing, becoming friends and getting together.

Percico Chilling By The Water
Here is my submission for the Percico Weekend. I worked with @dhdart on this and they even drew something for it! Anyways I had fun working on this and will keep an eye out for any other events like it! Enjoy Percico HC on the water front!
Percy gets stressed sometimes over school and stuff and Nico hates it
Nico hates seeing his usually playful fun loving Percy nearly in tears over some essay and trying so hard so so hard to pretend like it’s ok when Nico walks in the room
Nico hates feeling helpless
So he does something about it
Nico looks online for things to help with stress relief
He finds stuff like massages (those only work for a but then Percy is back to work and Nico can practically *see* the tension creeping back into his bf shoulders)
Meditation (that was a hilarious flop but Percy laughed so Nico counted it as a win)
Heck Nico even bought Percy a plant Percy still has it
He talks to the Apollo kids
They suggest talking a quick walk but Percy refuses to leave because “I need to get a good grade on this Nico, just give me an hour tops” Nico doesn't see Percy till bedtime when all he had the energy to do is cuddle and sleep
He talks to Annabeth
She told him to play classical music
He talks to Jason
“Tell him to do the eagle pose!” Nico had to look that one up.
Piper told Nico to kiss Percy more
“don't look at me like that Nico, it’s a real thing”
Basically anyone who knows Percy (Nico’s Percy not the savior of Olympus part of the big 7 seven Percy) Nico has talked to them
Nothing is really working and Nico is getting frustrated
Then Nico has a “holy Hera how am I this stupid” moment
Percy is a child of Poseiden. Water. Duh
So Nico decides to drag Percy out of the Poseiden cabin and down to the lake he has to promise Percy he will get in too
When they get there, both of them are content to let their feet hang off the edge of the dock and listen to the sound of the waves gently lapping against the shore
Percy gets restless though and tries to leave
Nico manages to convince him to at least swim a few laps.
So Percy strips down and makes lazy circles near the docks
It's quiet till Percy speaks “You know this reminds me of swimming with my mom, when i was first learning she’s have me lay on my back and just float”
Nico smiles when he sees then fond grin on Percy’s face
Percy talks about all the happy memories he has of the beach and swimming and Nico is happy to just listen, and watch (this relaxed Percy is a welcomed change)
As the day wears on Nico think he might just get away with making a trip to the lake and not show up to dinner late or soaking wet
Percy picks that moment to grab Nico and haul him into the water
“PERCY!!”
*uncontrollable laughter*
Nico is disgruntled and climbs back out just long enough to strip off his jacket before Percy is pulling him back in
They splash around for while till Percy pulls Nico over to him
“Thanks for this Nico. I needed it.”
“Of course. Just promise me something? Please don't let it get that bad again. I've been there done that. It’s not fun.”
Percy just kinda laughs and kisses Nico softly
