TMI: Being raised Christian (especially female) got me very into dub/noncon fics/erotica because the protagonist did not give consent, and therefore was not to blame, even if they enjoyed it.

Sex being so demonized ruined my teen years.

It is still f****** up to me that adults are so concerned with what teen girls are doing.

Anyhow, being raised Christian and then exiting the religion gave me the ability to make certain decisions about sex and how it should be treated.

It is significant. Whether you believe in God(s) or not, sex will affect your life. Genetic material processes, fluid exchange and hormones (like oxytocin) are all a part of that.

You don't have to subscribe to any rules beyond consent but it should still be taken seriously. It is disgusting when people say they "fucked 7 bitches a day" or had "dog fights".

Don't criminalize teens finding their sexuality. You don't even have the right to know and you should feel lucky if they open up to you. Sex is between them, their partner and possibly a deity (if you believe in him/her/xir). Kids do not need adults prying.
