Today's my best friend's birthday. And to surprise her, I decided to mail a custom made book I made. When I was making endpapers for another project, this particular one caught my attention, as it reminded me of Van Gogh's Starry Night. I loved it very much, but in order to get 2 pieces of it for endpapers, I had to use them cross grained.

I matched the endbands to the endpapers, and sew them by hand using Japanese silk threads. To give the journal a little pop of solid colour on the spine, I put a piece of yellow goat leather, and personalised it by blind tooling her name on it. 

I was a little excited to get this mailed out, and since losing confidence in our local postal system, sent it out 2 weeks in advance. She received it in 2 days.
