I support veganisn and I think it's amazing, but I have health restrictions that prevent me from being one myself. And I'm worried that my health concerns are gonna get in the way of my relationship.
The main health concern that I have is that I have a sever allergy to nuts. Like I've been sent to the ER because of it once. That being said, nuts are a base in many vegan substitutes and I can't even kiss my gf for at least 45 mins to an hour to be safe after she eats them.
It's not a major issue, at least it hasn't been in the past because she was a vegetarian and did not have to resort to nut based things for protein, but now that she is and it's become more of a constant; I'm worried that it's going to play a larger role in our interactions.
I support her and I'm glad she's making that change for herself and I think it's great, I just don't know what to do about her needing to have nuts at a source of protein as to avoid having too much soy, and me being allergic to nuts.
If anyone could offer me any tips of you have gone through something like this, or know someone who has this issue. Please, anything helps.
