PET PROTECTION SPELL JAR

I recently heard from a friend that an area that was lacking in spells is pet protection, so this spell jar is specifically for you, Soph (and anyone else who may need it). All herbs are pet safe.

You will need:

a jar of an appropriate size.

obsidian chips

sage (DO NOT use white sage unless you are Native American.) oil/herb

parsley oil/herb

dill oil/herb

rosemary oil/herb

some DNA from your pet (shed hair or skin, do not harm the pet for this under any circumstances.)

Cleansing materials - if incense, pet safe incense.

Black or white candle.

At least one of the protective herbs must be in herb form. The rest can be oil.

Take your materials and be sure to cleanse them. Light the candle.

Take a herb form of one of the protective herbs and place it on the bottom of your jar. Make sure all herb forms of the herbs are on the bottom.

Place the ETHICALLY SOURCED DNA from your pet on the herbs to represent the pet being laid in a bed of safety.

Place the obsidian on top of the DNA to represent the pet being surrounded in protection. Place the oils, if any are used, atop of the crystals to represent extra protection surrounding your pet.

Seal the jar and put the wax atop. Place somewhere safe and slightly significant to your pet, but with no risk of them breaking it.

Pet protection bottle spell

Note: this is not a replacement for vaccines or medical care an it is not intended to stop them from dying or getting terrible diseases it's just a simple little spell to protect your pet from whatever danger they may get in to in their pet life

Spell/materials

A bottle that closes

Protection symbols (certain rocks, pine needles, anything that provides protection an can fit in your bottle)

Things that remind you of your pet (food, litter, toy parts, etc)

Put your objects in to the bottle, close it when everything is in

Find your pet

Pet the creature with the bottle tell the bottle it's propose (is there something specific your protecting your pet from or general protection)

When all done put the bottle near an area your pet likes to be (but not where they can eat it!)

Things to consider

I did this for my bunny. I used a small bottle because that's what I had, I don't think bottle to pet size will matter

I keep my bunny's projection bottle on the table next to her area

I tried to have equal pet thing an protection things in the bottle

You have to still take care of your pet

My kitty is having some health problems with bladder stones and crystals again. I want to make a spell jar to keep in his room (out of reach) while he’s trying to heal and dissolve the stones with special food, but I can’t seem to find much geared directly toward pets. Can someone toss some tips and tricks my way? If you’d like to toss in a little blessing of healing, I wouldn’t be upset about it. Poor boy has been though a lot.

Recently my sweet dog passed away. It was very sudden and devastating. He was only 5 years old. I am wanting to do some kind of spell bottle with his ashes, but I am not sure what to add to the bottle. I am wanting to honor him in some way, give him peace and to help him move on. As well as give me some peace of mind that he is no longer suffering. Do you have any ideas for me? Herbs, crystals etc? I’m new to the craft and could use some insight.

I am so sorry to hear that, flower. Losing a pet can be as much heart ache as losing a friend and roommate.

Bay leaves are closely tied to the veil of our reality and others, and also aids in communication and protection. I would even write something on a dried bay leaf, a sigil or word, that you’d like to give your companion as encouragement in their new journey. You can let it burn away and mix the ashes, or place it in the jar whole with them.

Black tourmaline and selenite are my go to for protection and purification respectively. If he had a favourite treat, put a few in the jar, maybe along with his tags (if he had any), or wrap his collar around the jar.

If you celebrate Samhain, maybe surround this jar with a circle of elderberries and let a candle burn down on the lid to wax seal it. If the materials are degradable, consider burying them somewhere you two liked to go.

For you, my love, keep some mint or go find an uplifting oil (choose one that calls to you, then do some research on it) to help ease your pain. I know it’s hard, but your friend is free of this mortal coil and you will continue to love as he loved you. 💛
