Pet Vet: Age 2, Day 3

Pet Vet: Age 2, Day 3

Funny enough, he changed twice today. I deciplined him after he refused to eat, and suddenly he turned into this guy! Also funny, his happy and sad animations are still Voyeur McLegs.

I noticed that I don’t have anything to do with his daytime naps. He just beeps to tell me about them. Changing the lights does nothing. The only time I see the lights having an actual effect are when it gets dark outside, and when it’s time for bed.

It's the first pet I've come across that isn't a Tamagotchi color type that also has a battery saving feature. 10 seconds after he goes to bed, the screen goes blank.

The slot game has to do with you picking a fruit (banana, apple, cherry), and then trying to match it up with the other side as it scrolls. I like it.

Pet Vet: Age 1, Day 2

SO HELLO

I had no intention of running this pet. But I have this thing where I put batteries in things to see if it works and then end up running it.

The shell is a nice matte texture, and I like the little Simpson-esque dinosaur on it. It’s nicely printed. The buttons are responsive after a bit of a warm-up period.

What intrigued me is that I don’t know what this programming is. That’s an almost-Dragotti sprite booping around, but the programming feels more like Gyaoppi mixed with a Dragotti.

And the beeps. Oh lord, the beeping. It’s rare that I turn the sound off, but this definitely makes me turn off the sound. After spending the day with it, I think I figured out all the reasons it beeps:

It pooped

It’s sick

It’s sleeping

It lost ONE tick from one of it’s meters

I want attention I’m lonely :(

For ANY of the reasons above, I will hear beeping every three or four minutes. Two rounds of it. I ain’t dealing with that. I don’t think I’ve ever yelled at a pet, but I definitely yelled at this one. Funny thing though, if I activate the menu for anything and then cancel, the attention icon goes away. It’s all very odd.

It takes a couple of naps a day, so you have to turn off the light. At one point it gets “dark” out or something, so I have to turn on the light, even though it was on already. I think that’s Dragotti programming.

For food I get four choices: bowl of something, candy, drink (soda?), and a pineapple.

Bowl and candy are foods, drink and pineapple are treats, I think. It’s inconsistent, so I’m still figuring that out. Bowl is definitely food. Candy is not a treat.

There are two games: the standard L-R game, and a totally easy slot game. I play the slot all the time because it’s so easy.

It goes to bed at 9pm, and since I didn’t think I was going to raise this, I have the time set 2.5 hours behind. I work late though so it’s okay.

I’ve never seen a pet stick the sound on/off with the lights before.

Hopefully it changes tomorrow, Age 0 and 1 were both this blob.

God damnit

So I dropped the guy off my bed and he reset.

The only new thing that happened is that he turns into Voyeur McLegs when his discipline meter is at 3 (out of 6). It happened today, and when I was able to discipline him and bring it back up to 4, he turned back into the proper dino. I upped it again to 5, but nothing changed.

Bah. I’ll probably start it up again, but not until monday, I think.
