SIMPLE MELTING EFFECT TUTORIAL

hello! this is erika aka philplstrs and i'm gonna show you how to achieve the melting effect like this edit i made^^ pls like/reblog if you found this helpful!

1. first of all, cut out a person from a picture (pls choose where the body isn't cut, like at the shoulder, hair, blah blah) I'm using a picture of amazingphil here for an example

2. then, search 'melting effect' on google (or similar things like paint dripping, paint melting, etc) i downloaded this one but you can use whatever you like!! just make sure it's black tho

3. after that, make a new document, and place the cutout in the middle

4. <skip this step if you have a full length body picture> click Filter>>Liquify and stretch the bottom of your image (it looks weird as fuck at this stage but trust meeee)

5. place your melting picture on top and set the layer mode to screen, then adjust it to your liking!!

  6. we're almost done woOoOHOOOO  use the magic wand/quick selection tool to select the black part of the melting layer

7. right click and select 'Select Inverse', and erase the cut out's excess bottom part TADAHHHHHH there you go!!!!

if you want to make it even fancier you can sharpen it/add psd/add texture/whatever you like!! i'm really sorry for my shitty explanation but i hope you can understand it!!!
