I gotta say, TMagP is really making me appreciate the built-in infrastructure that the Institute provided for the Archives. What do you MEAN, you don't have an Artefact Storage?? The only other department supporting your work, the one that went out and Responded to things, so you could just do paperwork, got disbanded YEARS ago?? You don't have a boss to give you a measly inch of support as far as a job description??

I thought the Archives were flying blind, but good lord. Magnus ran a much tighter ship than I gave him credit for. At least when people died at work, everyone knew when and why it happened.

Also, let's be clear: when Jon got promoted (very specifically because he couldn't do the job well), he KNEW he was unqualified and made himself a support system of his two best friends, including the one person who should have been promoted. When Gwen got shady BLACKMAIL from her EVIL WORK COMPUTER, she said, "Great! Let's commit a crime to get my boss's job that I don't know or understand!" One of these people is significantly more rational about their expectations for their work, and it's UNBELIEVABLE that it's Jon.

The Archivist (TMagP) has always been an invasive species to me, I love ep 50 for clarifying that it is, more or less, exactly that. Thing that eats Weird Backstory Havers lands in the Weird Backstory Dimension, devastates local Backstory population.

I was reading something that mentioned that Daisy's body was never found after The Unknowing, and I finally connected the dots on Basira?

No wonder she's so stuck on this "Jon's and Martin's bodies were never found" thing. It seemed a little unusual for her, given how practical she is in everything else, but the last time someone disappeared, they weren't dead.

It's probably nothing revolutionary, but it does reaffirm for me just how interesting Basira is. She manages to hold this side character roll, with just the right level of objective view to crack her own angle on everything. She must have been an amazingly perceptive officer, even before getting Sectioned.

I always love Georgie but she's especially pulling her weight today. So incredibly validating to get a character who responds to everything with the appropriate levels of alarm.

I love the OIAR, but even Celia was like "oh! That's probably bad!" and then hatched crazy Evil Master Plan instead of Georgie's "you're being followed by a WHAT" "you were researching WHERE" "IT TOOK YOUR STORY???" "if this is who I think it is, we're cooked" Truly, she has what it takes to be in charge (preservation instincts).
