Unfortunately, I missed out on the poppy season this year in my new garden here in Austin, because we hadn’t even bought a house yet when it was time to scatter the seeds around. I was thinking about making the expensive move and see if I could buy pre-grown poppy plants at the local nurseries but that idea was messed up by Covid-19, which led to their closing. But I definitely will make sure that I get seeds to sow this autumn so that I hopefully will have happy poppies in my garden next spring! The shot of this incredibly frilly, beautiful, and super romantic poppy was taken in a wonderful cottage garden in England a few years ago. I would love to grow this particular poppy variety. Does anyone know its name? Or at least what kind of poppy it is? Also, I would like to ask if you are growing poppies in your garden this year and, if you care to share, which ones! Ending on a positive note, I just found out that a small independent nursery close to me very recently opened its doors for customers, again. Guess where you will find me in the next couple of days. I am so much looking forward to a propper nursery visit again, but, of course, with face mask and observing social distancing. Wishing all of you a great day! . . . #poppy #poppies #gardening #gardens #pink #pinkpoppies #pinkpoppy #austin #texas #austintexas #centraltexasgardening #england #poppiesofinstagram #fortheloveofpoppy #romantic #cottagegarden #cottagegardenplants (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAXwZfTAcW2/?igshid=qsm8qgkvxz3j
