My major paper two was focused on women's rights in America and women's rights in the Middle East. I talk about the history of women in both cultures and show how women's right have changed. I also discuss how social acceptance is a struggle for women to gain in both societies. I compare job opportunities for women in both countries, and lastly I talk about sexual assault and how it has a huge impact for women as a whole, whether they are victims or not. I learned a great deal from researching this topic. I learned about the culture of women in the Middle East. I realized after researching this topic that women in America have more power to fight for their rights than other contries do. Even if we do not recieve what we fight for at least we have the freedom to speak how we feel. When I interviewed my grandma she opened up about things she had never talked about before. For me, women's rights have always been something I was interested in but to hear real stories from someone close to me was shocking that society was once so prejudice at one point. Lastly I became aware of the real statstics for men and women in jobs, pay, etc. and it made me question why it is like this and what I could do to fix it.
