I also found this unfinished thing that features Beni AND my dear survey family. It’s almost a year old and I’m not sure what was the idea behind this comic. But Ingo is reunited with his brother (somehow), the clan leaders don’t have to argue over their beliefs anymore (they now argue for fun), the survey family didn’t change much (but got a little bigger). And Beni welcomes everyone and their Pokémon at the Wallflover (EXCEPT A GIANT CONSTANTLY HUNGRY SNORLAX).

He's the last of the galaxy team (excluding Rei, Laventon, and Cyllene) to go Feral. Pictured here is Beni trying to help Laventon get onto the dining table. Laventon does not appreciate it
If not, that’s fine! This is what he does. Minor spoilers if you haven’t finished the story!
He directly implies he was ordered by Kamado to kill you, and then battles you.
The player was already banished at this point, and Kamado told the clans not to help you out or they’d risk war with him.
(Rich, considering he tasks the player with helping both clans to keep the peace in the first place…)
But regardless, ‘Time we got rid of you once and for all.’ You were already banished, so at this point, it’s fairly clear what he is implying with this line.
And he tells you directly he works as Kamado’s right hand, that this is Kamado’s decision, because his leader doesn’t want to get his hands dirty.
He was ordered to assassinate you.
If course, its only ‘implied’, given this is still a kids game, but the message and threat is clearly there. Wouldn’t be the first time an antagonist had threatened to kill the player either.
So that’s why we don’t like Beni >:(
(Jk, you can like him if you want, but thats why he’s not well liked in several stories after this point in the plot.)

headcannon;
ghost type trainers become effected on some level by their partners (having ghostly features, both physical and behavioral, that depend on whatever ghost type they’ve bonded with)
This is not limited to just trainers, anybody who bonds with a ghost type can experience this
(Examples under the cut)
For example;
Ingo, with his Chandelure and Alpha Basculegion- His eyes glowing, being able to see in the dark, avoiding eye contact because people get mesmerized by his eyes the same way people get mesmerized by Chandelure’s flames (when it comes to the Basculegion, he has many similar traits to Iscan)
Emmet- very similar to Ingo, not as severe and without the influence of a Basculegion
Gaeric, with his Froslass- Being very comfortable in the cold,(thus causing him to keep his shirt off,) sometimes he sleepwalks and knocks on everybody’s doors during blizzards,(since Froslass does this too, she sees this as a bonding moment between them,) he holds grudges easily, sometimes, when he’s hunting food for the clan, he’ll absentmindedly freeze any extras and just. place them in his house. Froslass thinks this is hilarious. since Froslass is the counterpart to Glalie, maybe his teeth are a little too straight, like a Glalie’s
Iscan, since he’s technically bonded with Lord Basculegion- He is incredibly good at swimming, even during storms that cause the rivers to run stronger, his teeth are very jagged, and he can sometimes hear the voices of people in the diamond clan who have died (since basculegion is attached to the souls of its comrades)
Volo, with his Spiritomb- sometimes, if he’s mad enough at somebody, some things that he’d wish would happen do happen (referring to PLA’s entry that states ”it lays curses by thinking wicked thoughts“), he can be very mischievious as well
Cynthia- Same as Volo
Zisu, with her Zoroark and Drifblim- She has eyes that glow in the dark, and when she’s sparring with somebody in training, she doesn’t notice if she gets hurt, or if her own attacks backfire on herself. She’s incredibly good at lying (referring to White/X/Omega Ruby’s entry of ”Each has the ability to fool a large group of people at once”, even if it’s referring to Unovan Zoroark i feel as if the two types wouldn’t be too different), She’s incredibly tired during the day (referring to one of Drifblim’s pokedex entries) and she’s incredibly awake at night. She can also quickly disappear from people’s vision
Beni, with his Mismagius- He can appear out of nowhere, sometimes without even needing smoke bombs. He is incredibly good at singing, and will sometimes sing horribly on purpose to agitate people or give them headaches. If you look closely, he has dark circles beneath his eyes.
Charm, with her Gengar- wherever she goes, it feels suddenly very cold and chilly, she can hide in shadows easily. Ironically, if you have a charm of protecting, Charm will stay away from you. Her eyes glow in the dark and her teeth are very, very straight
Marie (the lady at the pastures)- Her job basically requires her to bond with every Pokémon kept in the pastures so do with that what you will
Akari/Rei (main character you play as) if you choose Typhlosion- If somebody gets lost, they feel as if it is their responsibility to guide them to safety. If somebody has been wronged (forsaken, basically) they will do what they can to make things better.
Love the Construct AU, I have so many questions though.
Do constructs have some innate sense that lets them recognize other constructs?
What kind of materials are they made of and do those materials change after being blessed?
Is it public knowledge that Beni is a construct in the Galaxy Team?
What are the modern day laws about constructs?
How long can a construct last?
How do pokemon react to constructs?
Glad you love the AU!! I am always rotating my little Construct friends, so I'm happy other people are taking an interest in it too!!
Constructs do not have any kind of innate sense that lets them recognize other Constructs... but they usually are able to recognize other Constructs easier than humans can because they're just able to pick up on more subtle stuff... for example, Beni quickly recognizes Akari as a Construct, even though she hasn't said she's one yet.
Honestly, don't expect too much technical talk from me as to how the Constructs are made! I imagine they're made out of all kinds of materials, but once they're activated those materials become More, so it's not... really relevant to me? So I simply have given it zero thought, lmao. If you open them up, there's gears and stuff bc that's cool but other than that. I have no idea and don't plan on thinking about it.
Yeah, everyone knows Beni's a Construct. It's not a secret.
There's kind of not really any modern laws in place for Constructs other than historical Construct protection laws... mostly because so very, very few people now how to make them anymore! In fact, Ingo's technically the 'youngest' Construct by date of creation in the modern day... in the past fifty years there's only been two other Constructs made (Valerie and Gladion).
Constructs can last forever, unless someone shatters their Core. You can break their body, but if their core is safe they can survive pretty much anything. Yes, this means Ingo and Akari are immortal. Ingo takes the long road home. :3
Pokemon don't treat Constructs any differently than humans, especially Constructs with sentience! If they're aggressive towards humans, they're aggressive towards Constructs and if they're friendly towards human, they're friendly towards Constructs. Constructs can understand Pokemon, though!
Beni and his team deserve more love but I also drew this for @/koepotan as a very late birthday present. Happy Birthday! And thanks again for taking your time for doodling some of our requests on that day.
I like to think it took 3 months for Cy and Lav to say I Love You. Lav kept waiting for her to say it, Cy kept waiting for him. Finally it just slipped out one day, from thek both, when they were headed to their separate quarters for the night after a long day of work. They both ran home embarassed. Then promptly ran back out to to talk over each other as they explained themselves. Beni and Choy watched it all happen, it was enjoyable.
