Megacopta cribraria
Sometimes known as the Kudzu bug, lablab bug, bean plataspid or globular stink bug, M. cribraria is a species of sheild bug (Plataspididae) that is native to parts of Asia where it feeds almost exclusively on legumes like lablab beans, to the point where it is considered a pest, especially in places where it has been introduced like the southern United States. When threatened Megacopta cribraria will spray a foul smelling liquid which will cause a burning sensation, in attempts to deter any potential predators.
