I’m Hanan, a mother from Gaza. A few days ago, my baby’s heart stopped beating in my womb after six months of hope. Hunger has drained me and left me without strength. After the painful miscarriage, I can no longer walk, nor even carry my other child when he cries. And he cries often, not only from hunger, but also from anemia and severe malnutrition. He is either asleep or awake and crying, begging for milk and food that we simply don’t have.
For four consecutive months, the crossings have been closed — no flour, no bread, no milk… We boil wild herbs and mix water with animal feed just to fill our empty stomachs with anything.
Can your heart imagine this scene? A mother who lost her unborn baby, and her other child crying from hunger under a torn tent.
The internet is weak, and maybe no one will see these words… But if you are reading this, maybe you are the hope we’ve been praying for.
