Perfect day for shadows • Eugene, OR
It’s mushroom season! From big to small and every size in between, mushrooms are popping up in Mount Rainier’s forests. They also come in a wide variety of colors and forms.
While some mushrooms are edible, many are not. Make sure you know the difference before trying any taste tests. Or, just enjoy observing these diverse structures. How many different types can you find during a visit to the park?
_____________ NPS Photos. Description: (top) A hand points to a single large reddish mushroom with a bowl-like cap as large as the hand. (bottom) A hand points to numerous tiny, white mushrooms, each one as big as a fingernail or smaller. ~kl
