Stop Fan Casting Black People Please

I’m just so tired of seeing people always use light skinned portrayals for dark skinned characters. Then when you point it out they wanna act like it was a mistake. 

Don’t get me wrong, light skinned blacks ARE Black and we love them just as much but when I am scrolling down a poc Harry Potter post and Angelina, Dean, Blaise AND Lee Jordan are light skinned..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

It would have been cool if one, or two, or three of them were light skin just as long as you showed some dark representation as well! 

If yall can’t find beauty in the dark skin as well as the light skin then just stop fan casting US. 

(Just a side note; I did not originally make this post in regards to that poc HP post that I saw. I am literally scrolling through the DC hashtag right now and it has happened yet again. I just pointed out the HP post that I had seen because I’m a Potterhead so it heated me up the most)

poc potter week day 6: next gen - 3/5 rose granger-weasley

hp poc fancast: renee mittelstaadt as rose granger-weasley

Spends every Saturday playing quidditch, brings her homework to the Three Broomsticks on Hogsmeade weekends and hands it in covered in butterbeer, insists on applying to muggle universities ‘just in case’ despite getting 8 O.W.L.s, levitates her cat onto Hugo’s head when he’s feeling down just to get him to smile, meets up with Scorpius on the edge of the black lake to give him advice on how to ask out Albus, gets exasperated sighs from Professor McGonagall when she’s given a detention for talking back to a professor, manages to splinch open her shoes during her first apparition test, reads a lot when she's at school but abandons all of her assignments and books for Netflix at home, argues with her mother about why divination is a perfectly valid N.E.W.T to take, advocates that more students should embrace muggle inventions even if they're pure blood, starts up S.P.E.W again in her third year although most people still believe that house elves shouldn't be freed.

poc potter week day 3: lightning era

aesthetic: always carrying his credit cards despite being at hogwarts, summer weekends with ernie and hannah on the family yacht in the south of france, champagne bottles stashed in the trunk at the foot of the bed, getting blank stares when he uses the fact he almost went to eton to pick up guys, tells his muggle friends he’s at a boarding school in switzerland to excuse why he didn’t go to eton or westminster, telling his mum there’s no reason to apply to oxford anyway as they can’t accept transcripts from hogwarts and ‘no, i won’t just magic my way in mother’, meeting the beauxbatons students and hearing about their palace and wishing he could have gone there instead of hogwarts, constantly irked by the dirt under his nails in first year herbology since ‘the gardeners normally do this on the estate’, getting a small potted plant for his room from professor sprout to develop his green thumb, complaining about how it’s unfair that hogwarts only has quidditch as he missed polo and had always wanted to fence, realises when he joined the d.a. that dueling is just fencing but with wands, losing money during the triwizard tournament since he’s still not use to wizard money and the slytherins take advantage of that

HP Headcanon

Kingsley Shacklebolt was a seasoned Marauder. 

Being one year younger than James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter he was not always around them during their shenanigans, but when he was they called him “Snowpaws”. 

He never engaged in the Marauders' mistreatment of Severus Snape but he never sought to stop his friends either.
