Another Poe character! This time, it's Roderick Usher from "The Fall of the House of Usher". You may remember my earlier post with his twin sister, Madeline. Neither of them look like villains, which I love. Roderick just looks so sweet and unsuspecting, but he's actually incredibly controlling and insecure. He's obsessed with Lenore and is dedicating all his resources to finding her--but why is he doing that? Hm. Lenore sure as hell doesn't know. She has amnesia. And the plot thickens.

Masque of the Red Death💀

The first of my Halloween series, here's Red in all her finery!  She's switched out the hoodie, cloth mask, and sunglasses for an outfit I would probably kill for.  Look at her.  She's ready to massacre the bourgeoisie.  That's a pose that says "Come at me, bro" XD

I haven't fleshed out (so to speak) Red's story much, so she remains very mysterious.  Which suits her, honestly.  She haunts the streets of the city, always covering as much skin as possible.  So her real face is not a skull.  That's just another mask.  She actually has flesh.

For some reason, she has the power to spread disease.  She seems like a vigilante of sorts.  Mentally and physically, I'd say she's a teenager, and she has a serious, snarky personality that clashes with Frederick's all the time.  I'll try to draw some of their interactions, because they can be pretty funny XD

"For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore; nameless here for evermore" - The Raven, by Edgar Allan Poe

Finally remembered to post her! One of the fun things about this little side project of mine is unfridging all the female characters. Poe really liked to create these fascinating and ethereal women just to kill them off (you could argue that his own bereavements had something to do with this). Anyway! I decided to combine Lenore with the Raven from the poem. I love her design. She's so pretty and purple. Lenore wasn't really developed that much in the poem, which means I have lots of room for creativity!

It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood and you're a very vengeful cat.

Next up in my Edgar Allan Poe series is Pluto from The Black Cat! He was an actual cat in the story, but I've made him a shapeshifter. He was described as a large black cat with a white spot on his chest, which you can see in his (absolutely lovely) hair. His eye (he lost one during the story; his owner cruelly cut it out) was described as "fiery", so I made it bright orange. My sister has a cat with orange eyes and they're beautiful.

Next up is Lenore from The Raven! I'm excited about her.

*SCREAMS* Commissioned the lovely Meanling to draw my cute widdle wood elf, Elatheris. She’s from a game called Pillars of Eternity and thanks to the new expansion part being released I caved and went back into the game. I ended up messing around and found my old baby who I haven’t played in a while. SHE IS PREC!

Basically think goofball druid who loves to sneak up on her companions as a werecat and scare the daylights out of them. Aloth is her favorite target as he shrieks the loudest. And who doesn’t love a tiny elf who looks the least bit intimating by ends up transforming to a vicious cat capable of ripping your arms off? I mean come on, it is perfect. If she can’t kill you with her claws however, her trusty staff is liable to clock you over the head.

*rolls around and squishes her cheeks*
