Wherever you are, you shall grow, always
Glory to Misconceptions
Blind since the womb;
my father said I've always been too clumsy.
We’ve never had a good relationship.
who gets along with stuck up individuals anyway?
I never meant to be a disappointment.
I'm lost, truly.
I attempt to listen to myself
feel empathetic,
hand all gratitude to life,
then nothing and everything feels lame without drugs.
I am at peace,
but the struggle is hitting me.
What have I done?

“I want to know you”
~For Jourdan~
Oh I could have told you of many things
Of pretty skies and birds that sing
Of Malevolence that lurks within my bones
And gives me greater fear than I have ever known
Of the golden dust that coats my skin
But to me it seems so thin
As if someone might just wash it away
And leave me alone with nothing to say
You cut so deep to touch my soul
To hold me fast and burn me slow
My glittering eyes burned out long ago
So I smile sweetly to say "There's nothing to know."
.

Since We’re Telling the Truth
I been writing this since the third day.
After I slid into your DM like home plate.
I’ve been wanting you since first base.
Better yet, when I got up to bat
and you gave me your number,
because you don’t do that.
You said you never give it to strangers.
I respected that,
so we exchanged snaps like a poetry event.
And off we went, getting to know each other on the internet, until we connected like wi-fi.
You were my type.
I always knew you were legit.
From the time I seen your pic.
Babe.
Brown and beautiful.
Name meaning faithful.
Can I be your servant?
Loyal and strong like a bull make me quiver with your roar like a little lion.
High and holy like Zion.
I want to build in your hills.
Rest the nape of my neck on your breast and reflect, breathing you in, inhaling deeply.
Take away my air like cinnamon with your stare.
Leave me in awe, star struck, speechless.
I questioned when you said “I love you.”
Did you mean it?
Was the route we took scenic?
How did we get here, how did feelings form?
To stubborn at my core to tell you more.
I simply said “I love you too.”
As if that was enough.
Knowing that four letters could never articulate the fire that you sparked in me.
I hope these flames burn slow and never die.
I pray your eyes stay forever bright.
When you look at me I feel surrounded.
Consumed in a cloud of butterflies,
lifting me off the ground.
The first time we spoke I fell for your sound.
The vibrations of your voice hit me at high velocity.
You’ll never know the success that I see in your neck, behind your throat chakra, I see your truth.
The things you speak move me, humbling me.
I wish to enter you one day, and be enough.
To be more than you need.
Open your solar plexus with me.
Confidently growing in creativity.
I want to help you get aligned,
and find the goddess inside.
See through your third eye and poor out your heart, sharing your crown with the universe around you.
Showing you that staying true to your root is fatal, let me inside your sacral, I want to explore your naval.
Riding the wave of your energy,
let’s build new memories.
Create a story all our own.
Make me your home.
Find rest in my arms.
Be my shaman, my spiritual guide.
Help me understand the number 9,
the stars in the sky, and how planets collide.
I look at your birth chart some times.
Trying to make sense of all these signs.
Wondering if there’s a way they combine with mine to make one big galaxy.
Which consists of only you and I.
Your Milky Way, chocolate, thighs intertwined with my legs, twisted together like a braid of Black bodies.
With you pressed against my chest,
we breathe at the same pace.
The distance between us creates space.
Full of comets and moons.
Flickering lights that twinkle but never tarnish.
Forever bright as their first breath.
Do you remember me?
I heard that there is a song
One I’ve been waiting for for so long
It speaks the truth
Of me and you
I heard that there is a page
Written on forgiveness and grace
And I still remember your face
When we went our own ways
Oh, do you remember me?
Do you still see those memories
Like scenes in a movie
Do you remember me?
