Fourth and final #PortWineTasting№4 was at #PortoPoças that had a fairly streamlined operation going with multilingual guides, videos, #BarrelRepairShop🛢️ (those things cost over a $grand$), and a decent #TastingRoom . I actually bought a #50mlBottleCollection of their prominent offerings. Then I waited for almost an hour in a piercing wind for the last #HopOnHopOffBus🎟️ back to the other side of the river. One of the more odd experiences was #PortWineTasting№3 at #quintadaboeira in #Porto🇵🇹 . It came free with #HopOnHopOffBus🎟️ and there was only one person inside the establishment. Lots of models of old Portuguese ⛵, an empty port 🛢️you can climb into and take a 🤳 in, and an interesting mansion in the backyard. Literally, deserted place whith few employees that hid in the mansion🏰. This was actually our #PortWineTasting№1 in the #PortoCálem cellars with a #RussianGuide . The place I learned from a fairly reliable source that once you tried #PortWine at one place, you pretty much tasted all of the port 🍷. Especially this is true for aged tawny ones, unless you are a true aficionado, which I am NOT. Not starting #PortWineTasting posts in order. This is #PortWineTasting№2 in the heart of #DouroValley with its carefully constructed #TerraceVinyards🍇 . For €17.5 you get an extensive tour of the whole #QuintaDoVallado operation and a tasting of 4 wines and 2 ports. According to the guide, this is one of only two independently owned vineyards in the whole valley, the rest were bought out by a conglomerate.🤨 At the end I bought two glasses of port, one #30YearTawnyPort and one #40YearTawnyPort to compare. Sadly, I am no #PortExpert🍷 and could barely tell a difference. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Surrounding landscape is just breathtaking all throughout the valley.
