HIS rook 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
Hate was a poisonous thing.
Slow. Insidious. Ate you up, inside out.
Bucky tried not to hate people lightly, tried not hate people in general. Not only because he was someone who should be hated, not only because he oh so often hate himself for all the bullshit that he’d been through, that he’d done (Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes, pick one), but he knew real monsters. Had been exposed to real evils.
Not the superhero kind.
Not just attacks against humanity.
But evil. There. Simple and stupid and shaped like a person.
Tom. Thomas. “Oh fuck, oh fuck, Tom, yes!” Tom that Bucky had been fucking having to listen to what felt like night in and night out for the past however many months.
Tom wasn’t evil. He wasn’t even particularly bad. He might be a nice guy for all that Bucky knew.
Bucky still hated him. Hated him. Hated him with every part of his being and he really wanted to be able to wipe him off the face of the planet with a glance.
Sadly laser vision didn’t come with the level 1 hydra serum package. Meaning Bucky was left perched on a stool at the kitchen counter, trying to take his frustrations out on the wheaties in his bowl, practically pulverizing each spoonful as he chewed.
It wasn’t Tom’s fault. Part of Bucky knew that. All of Bucky didn’t care, though, gaze fixed, unyielding on the top of Tom’s head, trying really, really hard to burn a hole in it
Amity didn’t help matters. She didn’t help anything. Pushing up on her toes to say sweet nothings and smile into a kiss. A kiss pressed against Tom’s lips.
Fuck, Bucky hated him. Hated him.
They shouldn’t have slept together. He shouldn’t have crossed that line. Shouldn’t have kept crossing that line. They never talked and they never discussed and then one day Tom was picking Amity up at a fucking bookstore and the sex stopped.
The texts.
The late night rendezvous.
The taste of Amity in his mouth. The warmth of her body. The slightness of her frame.
Fuck.
Tom looked up, he said something, and Bucky just waved. He knew he looked crazy, sitting there in a tank top and boxers, eating breakfast in the kitchen which he almost never ate in.
Pink barrette chock full of sparkly goodness holding back his bangs.
It was Amity’s. She’d stuck it on him during something. A sparring match. Movie night. He didn’t remember when.
He’d just kept it.
Like an asshole.
He was an asshole now, too, smiling that toothy smile at Tom.
Tom didn’t look amused. Bucky didn’t give a fuck.
“Bye Tommy,” he said with too much cheer, fake, forced, obvious. “Always nice to see you.”

They let me meet all those people with my lipstick smudged. Fucking braggart.
Vampire brides: *does Hannibal like sniff around Jonathan*
Dracula: begone thot!
Y’all Remember When Jordan Put His Fist Through A Wall Because He Overheard Sarah Having A Perfectly Innocent Conversation With Jon?
That scene still gives me bad vibes...
Person of Interest - Legacy - Season 1 Episode 12
Finch and Reese in (almost) every episode #13
Harold and John don’t have so many scenes together this episode, not least because ... John spends the time jealously stalking Harold and taking photos of him with a young man he clearly shares an affectionate relationship with.
What the heck, John. No wonder he changed his password.
