Okay so uhhh basically I have OCD, right? Mine is a type of OCD called Pure O (purely obsession based rather than the checking/cleaning type of OCD you hear about when media talks about OCD).

There’s a TON of subtypes that fall under Pure O, but my main one is called Scrupulosity, which basically means my number one fear EVER is that I am secretly a bad person. If I make a mistake that I deem as Bad™️, I become convinced I am Evil™️. Like, actually evil.

This sounds really silly and quirky, but it’s actually HELL. I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, sometimes I get so paralyzed by the fear that I get physically sick or can’t get out of bed. I know in theory that I’m not evil, but the thoughts become so real and the rumination doesn’t stop. I feel the strong compulsion to confess to things I did and sometimes things I didn’t do. Reality blurs and I don’t know how to stop it.

Except I do. This is where it REALLY sucks.

OCD wants reassurance. It wants finality. But the only way to get out of a bad OCD spike…

is to do nothing.

I can’t seek reassurance. I can’t really tell anyone what I’m feeling. I have to just sit with the discomfort until it goes away. And GOD…all I WANT is reassurance. I want someone to hold me and tell me I’m not evil and that I’m loved and not a monster! I want it more than ANYTHING!!!

And what especially sucks is that my OCD is making me feel evil for liking tickling because some religious prick told me YEARS AGO that anything even slightly sexual is EVIL. He told a 14 year old me that I was evil! And while tickling for me is for the most part platonic,

there are times where it’s not.

And I’m so ashamed by that. I hate myself for liking this stupid, idiotic thing. I wish I didn’t, and I am in therapy for it, but sometimes I wish I never had this interest.

So where do I go from here? Some of my friends know about this part of me and are so kind about it, but I’m convinced everyone thinks I’m a freak and gross and a pervert and maybe I am and that really scares me. But I can’t do anything about it. I don’t have anyone to talk to besides my therapist (love her) and my brain does a great job of telling me everything I don’t want to hear.

TLDR I’m crazy idk. I really want to end this with a joke to keep it light, but I’m so tired.
