Happy Friday! Wondering if we could have a prompt about a grownup Catherine/Phoebe/Marcus moment? Thanks!
Happy Friday! Also, I see Whitney Peak as Catherine
Oh I loved that Phoebe angst!!! Could I request a continuation 🥺 one where Stella causes a scene post funeral? Maybe rubbing it in that her mother is still alive? Queue Mamma Miriam coming to the rescue and Phoebe calling her mom (and meaning it) for the first time?
Ooh scandalous (actually, not really. All my family beefs take place at funerals)
Looks
Marcus drank his wine, looking at Phoebe over his wine. He was sure Ysabeau had sat her so close yet so far just to torture him.
"...Marcus? Marcus?"
He snapped his eyes away from his fiancee, who tried to hide her own smile, ducking her head. Miriam silently chasisted her new daughter with a look.
"I was asking if you were thinking of entering private practise or staying public?"
"Oh, yes. I'm staying in the NHS." Marcus replied quickly, clearing his throat, "I like being to able as many people as possible and well, I love London," More like he loved the woman he found in London.
Two weeks they hadn't been allowed to touch each other. Wedding rules and Marcus hoped his grandfather was having a rotten time in the afterlife.
...
Phoebe was looking for a book in the library when Marcus snuck up behind her and pushed her against a shelf.
"Marcus!"
"You need to stop," Marcus hissed.
Phoebe looked at him innocently, "Stop what?"
"Looking like you. Being you," Marcus practically begged, "Not when we can't..." He groaned, inhaling her, his hands wrapped around her waist.
"Just a few more days and you have me to yourself," Phoebe whispered, leaning up. Their lips grazed each other and Marcus knew exactly what she was doing.
Phoebe wasn't a proud woman. But the very fact that she had the notorious womaniser of the de Clermont this desperate. She wanted him too, but he liked to tease. She didn't mind giving him a taste of his own medicine for a while.
He groaned and pulled away as she pulled her book from the shelf, "You are infuriating."
"I love you too," Phoebe smirked, "Good night."
Marcus took time to compose himself, leaving the library fifteen minutes after she did. Gallowglass was standing near the entrance, a knowing smirk on his face.
"Shut it," Marcus snapped.
"I have never seen you so whipped before." He swiftly dodged the oncoming slap from him, chuckling as Marcus stormed off.
