Heya, I see you've only got 2 left. I'll take the creature collector if it's still available. If not, the platformer will do.
The game starts out innocent enough.
You’re given the option of three creatures to become your first partner (who you name Cookie), taught how to capture more to fill out your team of six, and sent on your way to be the very best alongside your trainer’s best friend.
It’s quite fun catching new friends and teaming up with them, giving each one a cute nickname as you go. Cookie wins you matches against several others on your way to the first major city, the bond and trust between you growing even stronger.
Your friend tells you a strong trainer lives here. She can test your strength to qualify for the championship coming up. No reason not to try, you think to yourself.
It’s a close call, your hands gripping the controller for dear life, but you come out on top. You give Cookie a big hug for his efforts.
You hold the trinket she gave you like a badge of honor, a sign of your potential. You feel more powerful just holding it, your arms slightly bigger than they should be in the reflection.
Why not try to go all the way?
The journey continues in a bit of a blur. You capture more creatures, battle trainers challenging you left and right. Cookie unlocks a stronger form. You smile.
You don’t stop winning.
The little kids and adults with day jobs stand no chance against you. Each victory earns you more money to spend and get even stronger. More proof of your strength.
Your clothes change without you realizing it. A white undershirt and red button down on top, tight blue jeans that show every curve of your bigger ass, the best running shoes money can buy. Red baseball cap covering your blonde hair. You look like someone the old you would have cringed at, made memes about on the internet.
But the old you has been fading the farther you go.
You train for longer and longer each day, pushing the creatures to their limits. You don’t waste your time catching everything you see, only going for the top tier contenders. Anything else is a mockery of your talents.
Your best friend challenges you to another fight. You wipe the floor with him without so much as a scratch on your side. He hands over your winnings, but it’s not enough for you. Your new strength knocks him out cold in one punch and gives free access to his wallet.
Cookie stops pulling its weight in battle. Its stats are too low and its abilities are trash. You ditch it without a second thought. You can find something better, more obedient to your commands. You don’t need friends. You need lackeys and soldiers. Tools of destruction you cast aside when you’re bored.
The other trainers stand no chance against you. You dominate the other checkpoints towards the championship, earn the required trinkets, and stop some lunatic from destroying the world. Your world. At least it will be soon enough.
Once you’re crowned champion, you’ll have everything you could want at your fingertips. Money, power, a smoking hot consort or two. The divine will bow to your commands. The crown is yours for the taking.
And no one can stop you.
