| Vintage Inkwell: one of Lily’s favorite finds. As someone who didn’t grow up wealthy, Lily knew hew way around an antique shop. She found the delicate inkwell at a muggle antique shop with her mother during the summer between fifth and sixth year.
| Hogwarts Acceptance Letter: though Lily already knew about her magical abilities, the acceptance letter from Hogwarts confirmed what she believed. It served as a pivotal moment in her life, and she has the letter tucked into a copy of Hogwarts: A History.
| Owl Necklace: the necklace barely has any value, and the chain has had to be replaced several times over the last eight years. This was the first thing Lily bought in Diagon Alley. She’s held onto it for sentiment.
| Lily’s Wand: 10¼", Willow, swishy, Lily’s wand has been through a lot. From the day in Ollivander’s, when a magnificent gold spark flew from the tip, to the first time she successfully turned water to wine, Lily has cherished this wand. It symbolizes her magical abilities, and solidifies her transition from the muggle world into the wizarding world.
| Dried Petals: a seemingly useless use of space, these petals are from the first bouquet James ever got her. After bothering him for it during their first month dating, he finally caved in. When the flowers started to wilt and dry, Lily plucked them from the stem and stored them in the empty oil bottle.
| Minolta Himatic E Rangefinder: given to Lily by her parents after graduating from Hogwarts. She cherishes the camera and enjoys photographing street cats and her friends. The camera isn’t the thing she cherishes, it’s her friends and the people she meets along the way, but the camera helps her capture the moments.
| Photo Album: this is where Lily stores the photos she takes. She has several of these books, each of them a disorganized mess. The books are stuffed full of pictures of potions she makes, James, friends, her ever changing planter box, the inside of her bag, random cats, and just everything she feels like taking a picture of.
| Window Box: despite the fact that Lily cannot keep any sort of plant alive for any longer than a week, she’s still determined to keep these plants alive. Chances are, it won’t look the same the next time you pass by, but the plants are treated with love. Perhaps this is what Lily lost when she gained her magical abilities- her green thumb. Her sister has always been good at keeping plants alive, and perhaps a part of Lily believes that if she can share one hobby with Petunia, the gap between the two will be mended.
