What has our world come to? We are moving backwards. And people say Canada ain’t the same as New York; okay fine maybe we ain’t but stop tryna ignore the fact that our neighbours have a terrorist as a president. How you jus gonna associate a religion with terrorism? It don’t make no sense. It’s a Muslim ban fo sure because we know those seven countries aint even prominent with terrorism. He wanna teach the country a lesson on 9/11? Okay, then the countries where the hijackers came from aint even in that list of seven. Why? Because he benefits from those countries, so he picks on the poorest countries. Imma make one point clear: those terrorists y'all love to call Muslim, those terrorists in 9/11, those terrorists in the France attack; THEY ARE NOT MUSLIM. Anyone who takes part in such disgusting, violent acts like that are NOT part of Islam even if they claim they are. A Muslim is humble, honest, loving, caring, helpful, and respectful. How is this influencing Canada? You can’t see it but my intuition is telling me that people such as Kellie Leitch will soon bring in orders, like Trump’s, to Canada. It frightens me. As a Muslim Canadian, all I can do know is pray. I feel safe no where anymore. Not in the streets, not at school, not even at the mosque.
It brings tears to my eyes to see how little we have progressed. It kills me to see how much racism is in this western world. I pray oppression just diminishes from this society and that privilege never existed. I pray that privileged white people would just stop and listen instead of tryna speak for us. I pray that the concept of cultural appropriation wasn’t so hard for the white people to grasp. I pray that young black children and young brown children can, one day, look at the TV and have a role model, look at their teacher and see a role model, look at their class fellows and see family. I pray my Muslim cousin can get a job as a pilot without being considered a threat to the passengers. I pray that my African-American friends can look at a police officer without being scared of a bullet. I pray this world fixes up, because the micro aggressions are becoming prominent.
Such a horrible attack, why in Canada now? There's no safe place to be. R.I.P. To these who lost their life's in this tragic attack. 😥😭 Sad to see all this happening for no reason. Sending all the love and positive vibes to Quebec 💕 #staystrong#quebec#canada#prayforquebec#quebecattack#quebeccity#ripquebec (presso Saint Catharines, Ontario)
I was unable to see them light it up. 🙏Prayers to all victims♡♡♡ #prayforquebec #candlelightvigil #loveoverfear #staystrong (at Olympic Cauldron at Jack Poole Plaza)
I am completely disgusted that people aren’t creating hashtags for Québec. Do people only care when the victims are white? I want to see #Prayforquebec trending
