The Captain Scarlet episode The Launching features a couple of models recycled from Thunderbirds. The presidential residence was modified from the Creighton-Ward mansion seen throughout Thunderbirds, while the small-scale model of Ocean Pioneer II from Danger at Ocean Deep appears as a decoration in the launching booth at the shipyard.

Thunderbirds was good at reusing everyday items as set dressing. The reactor of the Australian atomic irrigation plant in The Mighty Atom was actually a Hoover Constellation vacuum cleaner.

Many Inspectators were thrilled that Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery

included an extended scene in which the Third Inspector’s P.E.N.I.S. detector turned up as a prop, the Swedish penis pump.

During the 1970s, Inspector Spacetime and Witt’s Eight shared so many props

that many fans clamoured for a crossover episode that would firmly establish that both series existed in the same universe.

Sometimes, reused and recycled props, sets and assets are just that and nothing more.

The Meep from "The Star Beast" looks exactly like the Gralacks from Wizards vs Aliens.

I wonder what the BBC does with all the old Dr Who props?

Given the prevalence of prop recycling I’ll presume they just keep them in a warehouse somewhere.

I’ve always had a fascination with prop recycling in film and TV shows.

But even more with the recycling and reuse of entire sets.

I’ve seen it a lot in Dr Who, Star Trek and Star Wars.

Not complaining btw.

It makes perfect sense.
