1. bring as few electronic devices as possible.
2. disable face/fingerprint unlock.
3. use a 6+ digit passcodes, alphanumeric codes are even better.
4. don't consent to searches of your devices.
5. do not unlock your device for police.
6. use signalapp to communicate with each other. use its disappearing messages feature.
7. turn off GPS, NFC, bluetooth, WiFi, and any location services.
8. lock down your social media privacy settings.
9. don't tag or post identifiable images of people without their permission
10. police are monitoring your accounts. sunglasses and hats make facial recognition more difficult. pair them with your face mask.
11. if your device is taken from you, disconnect all of your accounts from it and change the passwords.
12. refuse any dna swabs or offers for food and drinks (gum, cigarettes etc).
1. avoid wearing contact lenses.
2. rinse with saline / water. tilt your head to the side, let the water run inside to outside, but avoid the tear duct. it's easier if someone else does it for you.
3. after rinsing with water, you can use maalox (PLAIN NOT MINT) is the best to stop the burning.
4. any generic that has magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide as the active ingredient will work. don’t buy any that have alcohol or mineral oil. it will burn a lot. NO PEPTO BISMOL
5. if you get gas in your mouth you can swirl the LAW (liquid antacid + water) and spit.
6. keep blinking, spitting, coughing. you do not want to swallow any chemicals.
7. if you're trying to help someone make sure to loudly announce your presence and ask before touching. someone will not take kindly to being grabbed when blinded at a protest.
8. wear gloves especially because you'll have to keep your eyes open.
1. plan ahead for essential needs, care and supplies. know how to get assistance and plan how to re-contact group if you get separated.
2. be calm and focused. try to pay attention to any danger and warning signs and take action sooner.
3. watch for signs of physical and mental problems ok yourself and others. try to calm yourself or anyone else who exhibits panic behavior.
4. document police's actions, film or write down brutality and injuries they cause.
1. don't put vaseline, mineral oil, oil based sunscreen and moisturizers on skin as they trap chemicals.
2. don't wear things that can be easily grabbed (jewelry, loose hair, ties etc)
3. don't go alone. go with a group of people you know well or find someone trustworthy to stick with.
4. don't forget to eat well and drink a lot of water. you need to stay hydrated.
1. water in a water bottle with a squirt top so you can drink and rinse off your eyes and skin.
3. identification and emergency contact information.
4. money for food, transportation, pay phone- literally anything you may need.
5. inhaler, epipen, insulin, prescribed medication.
7. wet wipes and tissues.
8. something to protect your eyes! people are losing their eyes to rubber bullets! they can seriously injure you!
