Janka drabble #1

Modern au where they aren't dating but they've been involved for a while and they somehow end up dancing in Zanka's kitchen. Drugs or alcohol are probably involved to loosen their hips as they sway to music playing from the shitty speaker from Jabbers phone.

The music is crackly and uneven, and the absurdity of the situation plastered smiles on their faces. They dance together and appear to be velcroed at the seams, but then they detach, and their eyes wander over the other's body from afar (they're two feet apart).

Zanka vaguely ponders how all his choices in life lead him to this moment, decides he doesn’t care, and pulls Jabber back into his embrace by a firm yet affectionate hold on his hip. They're laughing, but they don't kiss, and Zanka presses the sides of their faces together.

He half expects Jabber to lick him, because he’s come to expect the unexpected when it comes to him, but Jabber keeps his tongue to himself and instead keeps their momentum going with his body (not even using his hands, which where hung over Zanka's shoulders).

Zanka knows they've stepped into a more intimate territory, but Jabber doesn’t seem to mind and he doesn’t intend to be the one to bring it up He’s content, thats all that matters.

Eventually their dancing slows to a sway as their energy drained and Jabber's phone abruptly died, even so Zanka was relunctant to release his hold on Jabber's hips, and he didn’t want the other's weight to disappear from his shoulders.

It seems like Jabber has a similar train of thought, tho it's hard to tell what's going on in that guy's head, he could be completely out of it by now. Regardless, they stayed like that for a long time, longer than either one of them anticipated.

There was a surprising amount of comfort in their embrace, in whatever type of relationship that floated between them, and somehow they found themselves in the exact same position horizontally on the couch Tired and emotionally confused, they laid there together until morning.

Jabber, recently appointed Duke, inherited his father's estate and his research. However, Jabber also inherited his debt. He proposes a contractual marriage with the royal family, where he meets the third heir, Prince Zanka, who faces his own identity problems.

Chapter 2: After the incident in the courtyard, Zanka isn't talking to him. Jabber decides to take matters into his own hands to find out why.

all of my creative energy has been going into my photography, and whenever I get motivation to write it's always super late at night and I know I'll be absolutely miserable the next day if I give in and open docs 😭😭
