SO, @raevenlywrites tagged me in a three song thing a while ago, and now it’s buried under new tags, so I’m going to do my best to do it from memory.

Vance Joy - Riptide

This song always makes me think of Tommy when he first realizes he has feelings for Roxie, after he’s been dating Max for six months or so. Not all of the teens are poly, but with Tommy’s parents and Max and Roxie’s parents being poly, it’s not a weird concept to any of them, but still, Max and Roxie are twins, and isn’t that weird, even if they would just be sharing Tommy and not be doing anything romantic with each other?

Well OBVIOUSLY this mix makes me think of Jen, Funshine, and Smartypants, either dancing it up at a ridiculous party of the warehouse variety or listening to it in the background while they get high at Funshine and Smarty’s place.

Blue Skies’s cover of Mr. Brightside

This cover makes me ache deep in my soul. And it makes me think so much of Justin and Brett in Push Me, Pull Me, specifically the scene where Brett is trying to work up the nerve to come out to Justin and maybe even tell him his feelings, but then sees the hickeys on Justin’s neck from a one night stand he had last night, and Brett decides Justin can’t like him romantically if he’s seeing other people, so he just stays quiet.

I’m not going to tag anyone because I’m not sure if I even have the right rules. ;-; But if you want, you can!

So I came across a photo that made me think:

Justin (from Push Me, Pull Me, for those who weren’t around back then) would probably be really into the leather daddy scene if he’d come across it. But where he’s from you have butch/lipstick and masc/twink and like... nobody else is acknowledged (at least, at the time the story took place. It may be different now, as I moved away almost 12 years ago).

But I’ll bet when he and Brett eventually move to the Bay Area for Brett’s career, Justin discovers all SORTS of things. (Brett thinks it’s very exciting.)
