With their relationship established, Death and Puss always find some time to spend together.
One night, Death and Puss meet in the forest, they walk to the nearby river and then lie down next to each other.
Puss stares at the night sky full of stars before turning his head to the big wolf next to him: “Lobo, thank you for spending some time with me."
Death turns his head to Puss with a little bit confused on his face: "What happened Gato? You are oddly sentimental today."
Puss stands up and climbs on top of the wolf's chest and sits down facing him then start kneading on his chest: "I don't know, I just feel so much....love? I think everything is so dreamy right now."
Death smirked and raised his eyebrow: "I am not opposing, you are so cute like this."
Suddenly, Death notices the animals around the river are all in pairs and snuggling with each other.
Death holds Puss in his arm and sits up, the happy expression on his face suddenly gone and he let out an annoyed growl.
Puss notices his emotion change, still rubbing Death's chest with his face, and asked: "What's the matter?"
Death did not respond and stares at the river, a boat comes out of nowhere, and a fox sits in it and starts playing a string instrument.
Death mutters under his breath: "love..."
Puss looks up at him and replies with a soft voice: "Yes? mi amor?"
Death grabs Puss's head and gently turns his face toward the river, "Not you gato, him, the god of love, that's the reason you are feeling so dreamy today."
As the boat stops on the shore, the fox put down his instrument and then steps out of the boat, "Hello there, Death."
Death holds Puss more defensively and squints at Love, "What are you doing here?"
Puss cuts in: "Love doesn't like you?"
Death replies: "We don't go together, ever heard the phrase till death do us apart."
Love speaks up: "Ever heard of Love transcends death? I was never against you, I am just a little upset when love got torn apart, although I am here for something else."
Death let Puss down and puts his paw on the sickle, asking suspiciously: "And that is?"
Love just stares at them with a smile, Puss feeling the tension start to reaching for his rapier.
Love just bursts out a laugh: "oh, it's so fun to mess with you two, relax, I am just here to give my blessing." He then pulls a velvet box out of thin air then extends his hands, "Here, for you two."
Puss with confusion on his face looks up to Death, the wolf gives him a nod, Puss slowly approaches Love and grabs the box, when he opens it he saw two metal rings inside, one big, one small, both are made out of unknown material, and glow in the night.
"Come on, put it on." Love urges them.
Death and Puss look at each other, they grab the rings and put them on for each other. Love walks on them and speaks fast: "With my power and my duty I grant these two with the bless I give, no harm shall be done and no grief shall be land upon." with that Love just disappears into a mist.
Death just realizes what Love has done, and curses: "For fuck sake, you lil shit."
Puss not knowing what's happening asks: "What happen lobo? What did he do?"
Death sigh: "He blesses us with eternal love."
Puss shocked: "What do you mean by eternal, I can't die now?"
Death pat his head: "No, it means no matter how many next life you go to, I am bound to find you and fall in love with you."
Puss grabs the wolf's paw: "If you don't like it, we can find a way to break it."
Death shakes his head: "No, Gato, I love it and I thank him for that, I am just not sure if you would want that."
Puss grabs Death's finger with his paw, and their ring clung together, "Lobo, I would love to spend eternity with you."
Death picks Puss up and they kiss gently.
