Malevolent Ep17 Review

Just the sound of Arthur and the creature walking on the flesh makes me uncomfortable. I don't mean that in a spooky scary kind of way. I mean that in a, "I'm about to hurl" kind of way.

Nothing makes me laugh quite like Arthur interrupting John describing the environment around them and nothing quite puts me in uncertainty like John being terrified of the monster.

I got to take Arthur's side of the argument because I am 100% sure that John has lied to Arthur or withheld info from him.

I do see that Arthur is a lot like Rust Cohle. But he's more like if Rust kept himself before ever losing his child.

Though in a way, I see this episode as the best part of the dreamlands arc. With the symbolism, the character development, and the pacing is finally fixed. Plus, we get to see John be way more vulnerable. 8.9/10

Malevolent Ep5 Review

We need to give Arthur a hunter's license because he could clown on Sam and Dean if he was given his vision back. Dude killed multiple monsters whilst blind, lost control of his left arm, unarmed, and fatigued and in the same night.

Also, I think John is manipulating Arthur in some way, but I don't know why. One thing I love about the series is that Arthur gives off nice guy vibes when he's a bit of an ass to everyone and even kills his partner in cold blood meanwhile John gives off possessive vibes, yet he only acts nice to Arthur and only kills when necessary.

My fav episode thus far. 9.1/10

Malevolent Ep6 Review

I am glad that there was a random dirty gunsmith in this small town. Also, where did Arthur get that kind of money? I googled it and said the series takes place in the 1930's so what kind of detective is walking around with 110 dollars in cash? Also, Arthur knows how to pick locks. He might not be as nice as I thought.

Another thing I like is how John makes Arthur play the piano to calm down. One thing that stood out to me was the fact that Arthur knows poetry and riddles. Dude is a certified nerd. Given, I am too. 8/10

Malevolent Ep2 Review

Well, I was expecting the creature in Arthur's head, who I've been tolds name is John to take over Arthur's body completely for a few minutes to kick ass like in Venom.

But also, that escalated quickly with the woman and the baby. If I was Arthur, that old lady is going to taste a magazine. 8/10

Also, isn’t Parker's dead body still in the closet?

So, Egg is a sociopath and Dunk is having a no good, very bad day. Also, the Targaryen family still shows that they can further submit themselves as nothing less than maniacs.

Dunk's teacher was HUNG

Why is Dunc so nice? He has to be a cannibal or something.

Dunc and the Baratheon guy's bromance is INSANE. If there isn't at least twenty yaoi ships on Ao3 by the time I'm done writing this I'm going to riot.

Well, this episode was an increase in quality, and I will be expecting this to rise or stay the same. 8/10

Malevolent Ep3 Review

This felt a little bit like a filler episode, but I don't mind. It reminds me of Supernatural. Also, this gave me quite a few laughs from things like:

Arthur telling a baby to shut the fuck up.

John getting mad at Arthur for knowing what a wheelchair is.

Arthur falling down the stairs. (from what I hear this is the first of many)

But other than that, we have wraiths now. From what I can tell about this one is that the mother lost the baby and took her own life. Sad stuff in the funniest episode thus far. 9/10

Malevolent Ep1 Review

This was a fun introduction to the series as all background my knowledge was that there were a John, Arthur, and Kanye along with the King in Yellow somewhere. My initial thoughts going into this was that this was going to be an audiobook but here's the things that shocked me and actually review.

So, I found this to be a transcript reading and I liked that more so. Also, this reminds me of Venom and True Detective. Arthur is very smart, but he seems like he's on the verge of being bullied into being a war criminal. Sadly, there was no Kanye West which would make me laugh. 7/10
