My image of lil Egg A1, or as I'm calling them, Icarus:
Is like Dapper and doesn't have preferred pronouns
Dresses differently depending on the day/parent they're around (since we're all taking care of them now because we're all delulu); their preferred outfit is an oversized raincoat with colorful rain boots that light up
Favorite colors are cyan and light pink
Favorite food is PB+J sandwiches, with honey mixed in occasionally as a treat
Personality:
Is very shy around new people and will hide behind their parents
Loves rainy weather
Can be very playful around the people they trust; for example: will stomp in rain puddles near the trusted person to give them a light splash. They will giggle behind their hands and then admire the changing colors of their boots
It was supposed to just be the bedroom but I really wanted to add the axolotl room lol. I was also having too much fun with the new cherry blossom wood and the flowers.
It's definitely not the best design. I've never been a big builder person.
Also lowkey bought Minecraft for my Switch just so I could vod watch and build at the same time
08/23/2023: Feed the baby [Icarus] something sweet.
Notes: I wanted to stick with the slice of life tasks and leave the food ones to others but I really wanted to expand on my headcanons so-
"I'm supposed to feed you something sweet today. Do you have anything in mind, Ica?" They stare intently at me, then scrunch their nose in thought. They shake their head before putting their arms in the air.
"Alright, I got you," I chuckle out. I pick them up, my hands going beneath their arms. I set Icarus down on the kitchen counter. "I remember you don't have a gluten allergy but you're not allergic to nuts or fruits, are you?" They shake their head, their straight hair getting in their face. They huff in an attempt to get it away but it doesn't work. Their face breaks out into a pout as I bring my hand to tuck the hair behind their ear, giving them a small smile.
"I'll get to work on your sandwich, then." I head towards the pantry to grab some peanut butter and bread. I get to work on spreading the peanut butter on one of the slices of bread while Icarus plays with their jacket's zipper.
As I reach in the fridge for some grape jelly, I'm startled by the sound of something tumbling over and a gasp from Icarus. I nearly strain my neck looking over to them and see a bottle of honey on its side, honey slowly leaking onto the bread. I rush over to it and shut the bottle before more damage can be done.
"You wouldn't happen to like honey, would you?" I ask with a smirk on my face. Icarus shrugs their shoulders. I grab a spoon from the drawer and squeeze a tiny amount into it, before putting it in front of their face.
Icarus opens their mouth and licks the honey off the spoon. Their face instantaneously shows joy, their eyes twinkling. "I'll take that as a yes." I spread the honey that was spilled on the bread and head back to the fridge for the jelly.
"Funny how this happened," I chuckle, "This was my childhood sandwich but this was made by pure accident. I really hope you enjoy it." I hand over the sandwich. Icarus eyes it for a second before picking it up to take a hesitant bite. Their eyes light up again and Icarus takes quick bites out of the sandwich.
"Hey, hey. Slow down there, lil guy." I pat their back and they do slow down. When they finish the sandwich, they sigh contently.
08/21/2023: Teach the baby [Icarus] how to tame an animal
Notes: I did mention Bad and Dapper in this. For the sake of this short story/task, the raccoon story isn't real. Also gotta admit, not my best work. I haven't written a story in nearly four years so I'm pretty rusty.
"Hey, my lil guy! Are you ready for today's adventure?"
Icarus nods their head while bouncing on the balls of their heels, causing their shoes to light up. I ruffle their frog hat and blonde hair.
"You've got plenty of food, right?" They nod and lightly shake their container filled with fish to indicate that it's been filled by their other parents. "Then it's time to go to the forest! Let's go."
Icarus begins to head in the direction of the nearest forest, walking ahead of me with a pep in their step, all the while looking back towards me with a gleam in their eye.
Once we reach our destination, we take a break beneath one of the oak trees. With both our backs against the tree, little Icarus plays with their boots by tapping them together to see the lights jump around.
"Do you know what's on the agenda today, Ica?" I ask with a small smile. They shake their head while still gazing at their boots. "I'll be teaching you how to tame your new pet! I know how much you enjoy watching the raccoons near Bad and Dapper's home so I figured you'd like one as a companion."
Hearing this causes Icarus to jump up and pull my arm, trying to bring me further into the forest. "Okay, okay," I giggle, "Let me grab the chicken eggs from my satchel."
I open the zipper compartment to find two chicken eggs. Thankfully they weren't damaged on the walk here.
We wandered around the forest for a couple of hours, Icarus picking some flowers to add to their garden as we searched. Until finally, we find three raccoons near a small pond.
I crouch down near Icarus. "There they are," I whisper, "Do you see how they're washing things in that pond?" Icarus slowly nods, keeping their eyes on the raccoon near the water.
"That's how you'll tame them. I'll show you what to do and you follow, okay?" I hand them one of the eggs then slowly approach one of the raccoons away from the water. I sit myself down and let the raccoon get used to me around. Once its curiosity is piqued, I gradually lower my hand to the ground and open my palm to reveal the egg. The raccoon cautiously approaches, then stops when it hears Icarus let out a small gasp.
I look over to them to mouth, "It's okay." They place their free hand to their mouth and I feel small, soft fingers against the side of my hand. Without turning, I let the raccoon be and I feel the egg slowly slide off my hand. The raccoon scurries along the ground to wash the egg.
I stand up to walk to Icarus. I place my hand on their hat and tell them, "That's how it's done. Now watch what it does once it eats the chicken egg."
After enjoying its snack, the raccoon hesitantly walks towards me and stands next to me, looking up and tilting its head.
"It's your turn. Try it with the one by the water." I point to it and Icarus slowly nods. I see hesitation in their eyes. "Hey, it's okay. It won't hurt you. And even if it did, I promise that I will protect you. Always." I crouch down and hug them, rubbing their back. When we separate, they watch as I outstretch my hand towards my raccoon for it to sniff, and then I pet its ears.
With newfound confidence, Icarus cautiously approaches the raccoon near the water. They follow everything that I did, though they did stumble once while trying to sit. They looked towards me when it happened and I just smiled at them and gave them a thumbs up. They smiled back.
When the raccoon finally grabbed the egg from them, Icarus slowly made their way towards me. They look like they're holding in so much excitement, which causes me to chuckle. Which then causes Icarus to giggle and bounce a bit in their toes.
The raccoon, instead of being cautious, scurries towards Icarus and stands on its hind legs, begging for more food. They look at me for help and I dig in my bag, finding some berries. I hand them to Icarus.
"There ya go. When it finishes, we can bring our new friends home." Icarus grins widely, revealing their missing tooth and newly acquired fang.
Before we leave, Icarus tugs on my shirt. I look down at them and they have their arms outstretched, asking for a piggyback ride, while their raccoon sits around their neck. And who could say no to a face like that?
I spent so long focusing on building Icarus's roof for their house. It's not even done. Why did I have to make a complicated shape of a house? This is why I usually only build square of rectangle houses. But no, Icarus is going to be spoiled. Even if it's the death of me 😤
Gonna let my hair dry for about an hour then make dinner. Hopefully by then the announcement is over and I can start writing Icarus's task.
I'm debating on the food task, flower picking, or motivational message at the Titan.
I guess I should also preface this by saying that I probably won't directly have the islanders in my stories, just mentioning them. I don't trust myself to represent all of them accurately enough. Though I might include the other eggs later as I feel Icarus get less timid and scared.
