Q-Force is just gay Archer
I hate to break it to you guys but Q force isn't the big thing standing between us and queer liberation.
You guys are acting like a show about twinks is the reason that homophobia exist.
News flash homophobes were already homophobes before the trailer dropped
"makes us all look bad" cool, why would we care about what straight people think of us?
"well i don't act like that" cool you don't have to relate to every single queer character in media
The problem comes from the fact that you think that bc you don't act like that you are better than the people that do
All of Twink's personas from S1. Minus the one as Princess Mira
Grandma Rose Ariana Grande Erin Brockovich Vox Tux Michelle Typó and more
Watching Q-Force and dying laughing cause they animated Buck's balls bouncing on Mary's shoulders during the escape scene from the exploding mountain.
Anyways I gave Q-force an honest watch, all the way through though I kinda wanted to turn it off after episode one. Honestly? It's not as bad as everyone acted, but boy it sure ain't good either. There's some interesting stuff in there once it stops fucking around and actually gets to the point of how working in the government as a minority is fucking dangerous and they're gonna be out to get you, but it ends up kinda dropping the ball at the end with that plot line. It felt very all over the place, like half the writers wanted to write a plotless offensive comedy and the other half wanted a serious look at what it means to be openly gay in the work place. They tried to do both and failed at balancing it. I was pretty disappointed by how the gay community was represented too, even though my expectations were about as low as they could get. Not a single trans, bi, pan, or ace person to be found. Hell, not even more fem leaning lesbians or masculine leaning gay guys. You could say Mary was kinda their try at a more masculine gay man but he still fell into every stereotype about talking and acting more feminine, even though it felt kinda jarring with his character design. All the lesbians featured were highly butch except for the Hacker character (who was the most interesting one tbh). The token straight guy really bothered me and I wish he'd gotten some sort of punishment for being so openly homophobic instead of being made into some sort of symptomatic character just cause he was raised in foster care 🙄 The tldr is that none of the jokes were funny enough to make up for the poor story and character writing, and none of the character or story writing was good enough to make up for the poorly done comedy. We really need to demand better for queer media rather than just take the poorly done scrapes
Watching q-force with bestie Noah (@hello-the-odd-witch ) and it's lowkey good. Twink is my favorite
