The young woman had known King Richard since she was a young girl for many reasons, including she was best friends with the late King Edward’s daughter Mary and her family were lifelong Yorkist supporters. Danielle was not one for court, but today was a celebration and so attendance was vital. Curtsying low, she smiled gently at the King. Was that even allowed? She had never been good with all this etiquette thing. “Your Majesty.”

The weather was poor. The heavens had opened and rain was beating down outside. Looking out of the window, Danielle was lost in thought. “It was bright sunshine yesterday. How things change.”
I’m on holiday from the 16th-23rd so I won’t be on here.

Danielle looked over at her friend. “So, what have you been up to Tilda? It’s seemed like ages since I last saw you! Are you sure that everything’s alright?”

“Aye, I know this.” Jamie growled from his spot on the harbor, his gaze turned from the woman and looked out at the sea, dreading to ever leave Scotland. Wondering if he’d ever return.
Swallowing hard, he turned his head back and his gaze caught hers, he made a motion as if to go towards the boat, while still watching the girl he had loved for many many years, since they were children. She was his best friend, his confidant and the love of his life. Not only could he not bear to leave Scotland but he also could not bear to leave her as well.
Jamie turned back towards her, his hand outstretched to her. “Come with me. We’ll make a new life together, just us. Could…. Could ye be happy w’ me?”
“I wish you didn’t have to go….” Things had gone all wrong so fast. Jamie had incurred her father’s notorious wrath. Now he was being forced so far away from her. Danielle had been quiet for most of their journey to the harbour, dreading the moment they would have to part.
They had known each other for as long as she could remember. She was the daughter of an English Earl who had been sent to Scotland to govern the peace and now, the only person she had been close to since her beloved mother had died was leaving. What on earth was happening?
Before she knew what was going on, a hand stretched out for hers. Her heart started to beat that little bit faster. This was it, the moment she had wished for for so long now. Surely she was dreaming. Danielle had wanted nothing more than to runaway from the father who did not love her with Jamie and now it was happening all so suddenly.
Looking into his eyes, she could see the genuineness. Slowly she placed her hand in his. “Yes, I believe I could be.” A smile filled her lips. “Very happy I think.”

“You know I can’t”
Danielle sighed. “Well, can’t you just stay with us for a few days more? I have really enjoyed having your company again. I have really missed it. Nothing would make me more happier than you staying with us just a while longer.” She looked at her cousin pleadingly.

Laughing, Kiara reached a hand upwards to ever so gently trace her fingertips over the flowers. “It’s like a crown!” she commented, with amusement. “How do you do it? I always break the daisy stems when I try to make a chain,” she admitted, her lips pursing.
“Yes it is!” Danielle smiled widely at her friend’s happiness. “Oh, it’s quite complicated to start off with, but once you get used to how you do it, it should be simple. My mother taught me how to do it.” She explained, grabbing another handful of daisies, handing some to Kiara. “Would you like me to show you?”
