Do you believe in hybrid houses? If so, is a Ravenpuff any different from a Huffleclaw?
I hope she doesn’t mind that I’m going to say this, but I asked J.K. Rowling this once and she said they don’t really exist. You are either a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff. And in terms of the canon, she’s 100% right: or Neville would have been stuck in Gryffinpuff by himself.
When people do the hybrid housing thing what they’re doing is trying to use the houses as a Meyers-Briggs (I’m an ENTP, btw) kind of system. It’s more metphorical/personality based. But the actual Sorting isn’t metaphorical and isn’t trying to tell you what kind of person you are, it’s actually physically sorting you into a house based on the personality trait that wins out. Or Harry would be a Slytherdor for sure, Hermione a Gryffinclaw, etc. (Ron would be a Gryffindor. ONLY A GRYFFINDOR. YOU KNOW IT.)
This is why Alexander Hamilton* was actually a Gryffindor and not a mix between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, and two people in my office are shouting arguments at me right now, but accept it, you gotta pick one and know which house you were ALMOST in.
*you, as in anyone with eyes on this ever, have to see the musical HAMILTON. I will be preaching this gospel until I die.
