Why do I keep seeing wlw art where the masc has darker skin than the fem? Why is this such a common occurrence?

I would just like to put out there that in Japanese fandoms, any reposting of fanart without obtaining explicit permission is considered the same as yoinking it without source is in English Web spaces. I would also like to state that neither is suddenly OK as long as the artist is Japanese, either. I always tell the original artist if I see work I've seen on Pixiv, stop treating Japanese fans like garbage. This has been a public service announcement

woke up from the most vivid and horrific nightmare ive had in a while, honestly what the fuck does my brain come up with………… i was in a parking garage and had just gotten out of the car (which was some kind of fancy convertible) with mr toxic when somebody pulled in to the spot across from us and bumped the nice car with their old beater right in front of me…. he got out of the car and it’s some black dude with this like sheepish ‘omg i fucked up’ look on his face but also weirdly with this giant serrated knife in a hip holster and in my mind im like well.. this is a loaded situation… so im just like no worries dude, there’s no damage to the car, we’re cool, and he looks relieved, so then we’re all walking toward the stairs with him in front of us and this woman up ahead in front of all of us and i get this moment of total panic where i grab mr toxic’s arm and whisper holy shit. he’s here to kill her. and immediately im like whattttt you crazy!!! there’s absolutely no reason for you to think that. except of course because this is my dream as soon as i think something it fucking does happen so he starts walking faster and pulls out the knife and i scream and start to run to catch up still not quite believing but he wraps one arm around the woman and stabs the huge knife straight down between her neck and shoulder with the other and somehow i get to her and catch her??? before she falls so im like hugging her holding her up, i don’t know where the fuck the guy or mr toxic are but im just sobbing trying to hold it together and talking to this woman while she bleeds out in my arms, wondering what on earth i could have done differently and her subclavian artery is spurting right in my face (@ subconscious thanks for the accurate anatomy there, fuck you), at one point i try to stop the bleeding with!! my face while I’m holding her up, i just……

anyway. hopped on fb to decompress when i woke up after that at 5am and realized its been exactly 3 years since my friend was murdered… so thanks a lot for that dream buddy… also apparently his memorial is a pokestop… anyway. my night. but also like. is this ptsd
