While this isn't about the news, I think I've figured something else. What disturbed Layla in the fight. He used the staff, but not just to shoot power again. I think Jake grabbed the staff and then grabbed one of the nearby "perfectly balanced" cultists, said that Ammit's judgment was bullshit and then PROVED it was bullshit.
Oh, that is. Hold on a second. Yeah.
Because the thing is, Harrow wouldn't allow any of his followers to have unbalanced scales (which is haha funny Arthur because that's a bit hypocritical of you, but I digress), but Jake would see right through that, in the same way he'd see right through Wendy's abuse. He'd pick apart all the flaws in Harrow's ideology, connecting it through the other cultists and the destruction they wrought in chasing their endgame. It's proving that not everyone is either all good or all bad, and what matters is what you choose to do with it.
Which would be. Insane. It would sort of foreshadow the journey he'd have to go on when Marc and Steven finally meet him. Because right now, that's all the think of him, is that he's made all the wrong choices.
