Okay I’m a sucker for nicknames, they all had to have one even if their name is short…

Mae-Lynn: Mae

Natalie: Nat

Zena: Zea (I found out Zea was a nickname for Elizabeth when I was about 12 and got obsessed with the name…)

Sierra: Erra (pronounced air-uh)

Opal: Theia (Theia was the goddess of blue skies/gems! Cause y’know, opal? Yeah…)

Rain: Bo (get it??)

Yeah so idk what they were actually for. They weren’t a fandom or anything, just characters! I think I was going to write a book about them.

“All fuckin’ aboard,” Vic crowed, adjusting his hat as he jumped the space between dock and the boat. One hand carried a paper bag of takeout— grease already seeped through and made dark spots on the surface, the other throttled a bottle of what was admittedly, very cheap wine. Rain’s location was identifiable by the thin plume of smoke on the back deck, and he grinned, making his way around the side of the deck to find the drummer with his feet dangling in the water. “Not the warmest welcome you’ve ever given me,” he noted, kicking his shoes off before mirroring the way he sat. The water was still cold, but the sun on the two of them was warm enough that he didn’t quite mind. “Brought you dinner,” Vic said, passing over the bag, before holding up the bottle. “And a liquid lunch for me.” His hand gestured towards the joint that slowly burned away, “Gimme a turn with that, yeah?”
