"I only ask that you keep an open mind today Ankur. I finally plan to share a few thoughts with you- It's nothing bad..Just important." Yao looks down from the ladder he stands on and removes another crumbling leather book from the shelf. He hands it down to Ankur for light dusting and inspection before it joins the others already airing out in the cool room.
Today his old journals are being prepped for the conservator, and Yao is being very cautious with his old memories. He pulls one of the smaller bound books off the shelf and smiles fondly at the name peeling off the front.
Looking back at old writing is like meeting parts yourself for the first time. This book is less about him though and more about the peeling name on the front. "This is the third or fourth time I'll have to rewrite the contents in this journal you know. It's appropriate for it to be now that I remake my old journal on you,"he says. He seems to linger on something unsaid as he holds the book tight in his gloved hands.
"Do not put this one with the others, it can't go out today. It's far too special." He takes a few steps down to hand the hallow book to the rakshasa, but pushes it more towards his chest than his waiting hand.
"Now about those thoughts."
