They had been out of the holding cell for no more than a day or two, before Ma insisted on a family gathering. Family dinner was a common occurrence for the Thane family -- Even if everyone’s wives had been held by ATF for forty eight hours. He knew of all the women held, Reina wasn’t the one to worry about, with Rowan coming in as a close second. The former, however, had weathered plenty of storms like these. Being the wife of an MC president put a target on your back, and Reina had never been an exception. The man they buried weeks prior was only further proof of it. The paranoid part of him that had surfaced in the last few days made him wonder if a member of the ATF knew what they had done. She was the one he wanted to pull aside and talk to, with far too many conversations between them having either been too public to be honest or cut short by someone joining them. Reina had the most experience with this kind of thing, would be the one who would catch certain information or a subtle slip up.
He’d grill his own wife for any information or things she’d noticed -- But Reina was conditioned to see the worst in people, with a sixth sense for ulterior motives since birth. He retires to the back porch after dinner, the two now alone in a familiar setting. He’d hidden away with Reina countless times, both smoking cigarettes and speaking candidly about recent events. Hopefully tonight would be just the same. He doesn’t bother with greeting her pleasantries or a hello. Instead, he pulls two cigarettes from the pack hidden in the inner pocket of his cut, handing her one before lighting his own. “You get one’a those tear drop tats yet?” He opens with, pausing to take a puff of his cigarette. It’s a joke, one he knows is going to push her buttons -- But then again, he’d never missed an opportunity. They’re not the type to open up to one another from the get go, especially Reina (see: conditioned to see the worst in people), so he finds it easier to open with something lighter. “Izzy strikes me as the type’a person who knows how to do a decent stick-n-poke tat.”
