The biggest takeaway from reading HR is the getting the inner thoughts and feelings of both Shane and Ilya. That’s something that’s missing from the show. It dawned on me during the shower scene like wow, Shane’s perspective on all the new feelings and realizations and questions as he’s watching Ilya. It shows up a little prior when they are in the gym.
Anyways.
It’s a welcomed change after reading about a coming of age story where I’d like to pop the mother in the mouth.
I’m 64 pages in.
