#Pillow Update: From @readyforrescue @earthwatersol: #readyforrescue: #AllAboutSavingAnimals: #Cat: #catsofinstagram: Update! Pillow was just transferred to ASC ER. He spent the last two nights at VEG, the first under the care of the NYC-ACC shelter and then last night under @readyforrescue after we agreed to take him into our group. Thank you to everyone who pledged and donated, we could not have rescued this baby without you. He looks so much better but is not out of the woods. He still has a severe upper respiratory infection and conjunctivitis, is emaciated, and has wavering hypoglycemia. Though his hypoglycemia has improved with dextrose and his eyes have dramatically improved after being carefully cleaned and treated with antibiotics. He’s currently pretty subdued and clearly doesn’t feel well, but ASC and their amazing Internal Medicine and ER team will be taking care of him and checking him for any blood born diseases (he was found outside...I can’t imagine this senior boy being out in this cold, but also we have had (3) outside rescues test for mycoplasma, (2) for coccidia, and (1) for cryptosporidium, all within the last two months). Once he’s well, he will be neutered and undergo a dental. He has pretty bad choppers. A message from @readyforrescue @earthwatersol #readyforrescue regarding #MrSniffles formerly from the #NYCACC Shelter! MR. SNIFFLES' UPDATE: Can you stand the cuteness? Mr. Sniffles, now being referred to as Mister, is doing very well! He has been in foster for the past week and is starting to act like a crazy little kitten (video in post). We are so thrilled. He loves catnip toys, playtime, and cat TV. His foster is out of town this weekend, so he is spending the weekend in the AMC ICU unit. But, thankfully, not as a client - AMC staff offered to babysit him! They love this little guy so much and couldn't wait to see him again. He is off all meds and tube feedings and is eating like a piggie. His recovery is amazing and shows us just how much fight he has. We love him dearly. Thank you to everyone who has been so generous in donating monetary and gift donations. We couldn't do this without you! And without Cuddly. Our final total including AMC, VEG, Ambuvet, and follow up care, is approx. $13,000. As of writing this, between Cuddly and other fundraising platforms, we have raised approx. $10,000. We are almost to our goal, but still have $3000 to go to cover his bills. Yesterday, we ended up pulling senior cat Taylor from the NYC-ACC shelter. However, this guy will need the works: ultrasound, echocardiogram, dental, and full blood work, so we are looking at additional costly vet bills. A message from @readyforrescue #readyforrescue in regards to Mr. Sniffles the #kitten formerly from the #NYCACC Shelter! UPDATE: MR. SNIFFLES TOOK HIS FIRST BITE OF FOOD! This little guy had us very worried this past Wednesday. He was very dull, not moving around much, and had overall taken a a step backwards. However, Mr. Sniffles does not give up! He had a huge turn around yesterday. He starting to eat on his own for the first time since he's been under Ready For Rescue's care at AMC more than eight days ago and he's acting like a kitten - prancing around his cage, making a mess in his litter box, and seeking attention. He was also weaned off of his dextrose and is maintaining his glucose level, which is a first. He is continuing to receive IV fluids, antibiotics, nutritional support, and thiamine. He also gifted the staff with some worms, which may have been why he felt so awful on Wednesday, so he will be dewormed for a second time. Mr. Sniffles will likely be staying at AMC through the weekend. We don't want to take any risks with his current improvement, seeing that he has come so far and kittens are so fragile. We are up to more $15,000 in vet bills for this little fighter and only have approx. $6700 covered in combination with our CUDDLY fund and other fundraising platforms (thank you generous donors!). From @readyforrescue #readyforrescue: EXTREMELY URGENT: KIP IS IN ER. We are desperate for help for our sweet kitty boy. He was just rushed to Blue Pearl for falling over when he tried to stand up. He is showing to be severely anemic and needs one, possibly two, blood transfusions tonight. We have been quoted $5748-6619 for 24 hours. We love Kip and told Blue Pearl that we are all in, but this is an expense that will cripple us financially. We can't do this without you. Kip was dumped at the NYC-ACC this past February, for ongoing vomiting and anorexia. NYC-ACC put out a plea for this senior boy and we took him in, despite being inundating with sick cats. We sent him to one of our best vet for diagnostics and supportive care. Kip has been doing moderately well with eating and his vomiting was brought until control with anti-nausea meds. His blood work did not show him as anemic, but an ultrasound showed a possible mass which could be contributing to his acute anemia. It's also possible, per the ER vet, that something infectious could be the cause. Please help us. Kip is the sweetest boy. He made muffins during his car ride and pressed his nose against the carrier door for attention. He is a very gentle soul. We want him to have a chance at life outside of a cage, which he has been in for the past month, first at the shelter and then at our vet while he was being evaluated. He just went to foster this past Saturday, with a couple who has been doting on him since. We want him to go back home to this his caring humans, to enjoy his favorite sun spot and fluffy blanket. Please help us to give Kip the best chance at recovery, or at least the best chance at a loving rest of his life. What we thought might be a $1000 ER visit is now a $6000 ER bill. Check out Kia, the kittenish two-year old who just loves to cuddle and play. He's a real people kitty who is not shy with strangers -- in fact he greets them like a dog. This gentle, loving senior Pit Mix adores people and lovingly follows his foster mom around the house. Ben is a true snuggler - he simply loves cuddling with people. Ben has mild ataxia (a wobbly walk) but that doesn't stop him from enjoying a good time in the yard. He loves being outdoors and trotting through the grass and smelling the smells. We rescued Ben from the NYC shelter where he wound up after being found tied up in abandoned building. We took one look at that heartbreakingly cute face and said, we need to take him! #adoptme #readyforrescue
