“It’s not my fault that he’s such a pervert! He shouldn’t have been wanting to do such a thing with poor Sango...”

Kagome gritted her teeth. InuYasha's elder half-brother had her literally backed in a corner. Was he here to avenge the fact that SHE had been the one to loose the Tessaiga from their father's grave?
She knew he hated humans. And she was definitely human. Her back stiffened at his words. Of course he'd be able to listen to her heartbeat to determine what she was feeling. Damn the Inu DaiYōkai before her.
"I'm not afraid, Sesshōmaru." she said quickly. "I just don't like being backed into a corner. Get away from me."
“For living beings as weak as humans, fear is an essential instinct. It’s the only thing that can help you survive, knowing when it’s time to crawl away and hide.”
The demon lord was taking full advantage of their height difference, towering over the strangely-clothed young woman with his imposing presence. Amber eyes, so similar to the hanyou, yet devoid of any warmth, peered straight into her own with invasive scrutiny. He still did not understand... why had Tessaiga unleashed its full form in Inu Yasha’s hand? Because of her? How?
How did she affect his half-sibling? How did she make him stronger? Strong enough to be worthy of their father’s fang?
And how could he make that gift his own?
Maimed of his left arm, he used his right to reach towards Kagome’s face, intending to tilt her chin up for a most direct stare down.
“You should learn to be afraid.”

“Well, clearly, I’m making you cry. Again. If I upset you so much, you should get rid of me, right?” Not making the best case for himself. Surprise surprise. “Or at least I guess I could give you some space for awhile. I don’t really know what to tell you when you’re cryin’.”

“Just, I was wondering- can you teach me... something about healing, maybe? With herbs?”
“It’s just... Tenseiga only works after they’re already dead, you know? To be able to help people, heal them, when they’re still alive... is there any way you could teach me about that?”

"How rare it is to see you without that half-breed. Have you finally gotten tired of him?"

❛ say hypothetically speaking ... moroha and I broke something. do you think lady kaede would notice? ❜

The demon child almost rolled his eyes at the miko’s statement. He was very aware of her distrust of him, which was of course understandable given their past with each other. They were enemies after all.
But if he was proposing a truce then he had no intentions of “stabbing her in the back” as Kagome had put it. The search for a particular plant -which could benefit either of their groups- started out as a race to see who would get it first and ended up as a trap for intruders.
And now they were stuck, literally, in the inside of a demon.
Together.
❝ If that is your attempt to intimidate me then you need to work on it. ❞ he berated her with sarcasm ❝ I do not have intentions of betraying you anyway. ❞
They had to find the heart of this creature and kill it, before the acid of its stomach reached them.
