red-opium replied to your post “My favourite thing is the fact that i work from home, i hardly ever...”
Teach me the ways of the paid artist.
Honestly just put yourself out there and hope for the best. I’m lucky enough irl to have a family that is rooted in the art community, as well as working for/being friends with a lot of people who are also routed in big name family run companies and such.
When it comes to commissions online, its just throw your stuff out there, slap on a price tag and hope for the best tbh
Junkangaroo?
I used to rp Junko Enoshima and pandamonk and red-opium gave me the nickname since i’m also Australian ;v;
Hallelujah to the textile gods The bamboo fabric I planned to use for my ties was no longer stocked but I ordered a sample of this bamboo twill and it's perfect! A bit heavier than the woven and with more lustre and drape. Going to order a few metres of this to practice sewing and printing :)
Hello poppets!
I've been away from my lovely studio recently due to work commitments but here I am, trying to make sense of my enormous task :)
Pictured is a demo for a tie design i'll be doing. Any critique is welcome!
This is a fabric I'm very interested in, though it probably won't make it into my collection: 80% bamboo and 20% wild nettle! I had a lot of experience with wild nettle as a kid in the UK so to see such a beautiful fabric made from the stuff is quite bizarre! Still the handle and drape is wonderful.
Sorry for the downtime, folks! I've spent a while learning Illustrator to make my logo a beautiful shiny vector graphic! I also received a lot more bamboo fabric samples in the mail and hung some up. So far I think the woven bamboo is the go. Unfortunately it lacks the sheen and drape I get from the bamboo jersey, but that's far too stretchy as a knit fabric. Oh well! Perseverance is key when you aren't quite sure what you're doing I suppose.
Branding
Hello lovelies! I'm working on my brand design and ethic tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to hash out a logo by the end of the night. What kind of logo do you have in mind for my Red Opium Apparel?
