Who’s better: Chloe Ting or Me?
You might have heard her from her YouTube fitness channel, or from the recent attack by a Singaporean bodybuilder on his IG stories - Basically, she said ‘get abs in 2 weeks’ and he said ‘that’s BS’. Which, I agree with the bodybuilder that a lot of her statements are misleading, but what do you expect from a YouTuber who has videos titled ‘Boobies & Triceps workout’ and ‘Grow booty not thighs’?
If you compare Chloe Ting with me back then, of course, Chloe Ting is FAR way better than me. At least her video editing skills and the recipes she share on her channel are great. Meanwhile, I stood in front of 50 people telling them to follow my shitty form for a whole session, and I had so much ego in CrossFit deadlifting 155# when I can barely lift 65# with a good form.
So, am I any better than Chloe Ting today? Still, a no. Her content may not be fully truthful etc but still, look at how many people she managed to motivate to move! We all started learning somewhere, most times we learn from mistakes, failures, sources we thought were reliable etc. What matters is - our drive to continue learning.
I have yet to understand a LOT of things. There are always times when I don’t know how to answer my clients’ questions. There are always days when I feel like a super shitty PT and that I'm cheating off their money. But at the end of the day, I know that the only option I have is to always try to learn more and figure out with my clients what works well for them with the best of my knowledge.
I workout to compete, to teach and for my general wellbeing. And if you’re working out to look like Chloe Ting and she can really motivate you, BE IT.
And from the deepest part of my heart, I am really thankful to my clients who have trusted and stayed with me, allowing me to be part of their health/fitness journey, and giving me a platform for my own self-improvement.
Hope you guys had a great weekend!
