Yes. The old Parent-Child relationship dynamic. Instead of one person being aware of what they are feeling, why, and taking care not to pin all of that on their partner, they deflect, blame, and criticize that person as a result of their own shortcoming, pusing their partner away.
When the partner who is being pushed away realizes what is happening and tries to call attention to it so that the two of them can work through it, the emotionallt immature partner takes this as an attack and begins to bring up each and every little thing the other person has done that has "hurt" them, when it was something that may have been very benign that they are just using as a means to play the victim so that they don't have to improve themselves, but continue getting what they want.
This is unfair to the person who wants to be able to work things out, but is constantly blocked by this dynamic. This is an unsafe place to be.
