"I have a message for people who say, 'Oh there's no point in calling my Republican representative. He doesn't listen, so it doesn't matter.' For the first few years that I was in office, Republicans flooded my phones. Do you think they really thought they were going to change my mind? No. But they constantly and consistently. Republicans flood the phones far more than people who are not Republicans flood the phones. And it does have an effect, because you really start to understand the strength and the scale of what you are up against. Republicans need to get that message too, because it skews our whole environment to the right when the constant pressure come from one place. Like, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but people who watch Fox News all day and right-wing media all day call their members of Congress, and they tend to call members far more, and far more consistently and regularly than everybody else does. And that really matters because phone calls are one of the biggest ways that members measure, not just it's not just numbers, it's how they measure enthusiasm, it's how they measure how people how much they are mobilizing around a certain issue and the more they see them mobilizing the more careful they will be in terms of not making those people more upset. And they will get pressured into acting, or hedging, what have you. So hop on 5 Calls, even the score, because this needs to be regular."
Anti-vaxxers: I'm having a hard time to find reliable sources about the dangers of the vaccine. There is a lot of information on Facebook and Reddit but i can't find any reliable sources about it. The mainstream media won't tell you the truth about it. Everyone is lying to you about what is actually in the vaccine because of big pharma.
Flat-earthers: I'm having a hard time finding any reliable sources about flat earth, I have a group chat with all the info but no credible source. The mainstream science sources won't tell the truth about it and still continue to claim it is round. Everyone is lying to you about the moon landing. NASA is part of the illuminati
Pro-Hamas leftists: I'm having a hard time finding reliable source about the genocide in Gaza. I saw a Tik-Tok video about it and heard about it a rally but can't find any credible sources. The western media won't tell the truth about it - they keep saying it isn't a genocide and that Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7th, murdering, raping and kidnapping innocent civilians. I'm sure they are lying about that because jews control the media.
I do verify sources when I can on my own, but I’m afraid I simply don’t know everything and I can’t verify everything. It’s ok to acknowledge your limitations! And it’s ok to ask an OP to provide sources.
“Google it yourself” is not a source.
“It’s from Twitter” is not a reliable source.
“I don’t want to directly link to it” then use an archive.org link. Refusing to provide any kind of source isn’t acceptable.
I absolutely LOVE your knowledge on norse mythology and the way you analyze the myths to find out where deities like Sigyn come from, seriously. I'm amazed.
I really really like Norse myths and folklore but besides the Eddas I haven't seen many sources of such, and since you're the expert, do you know any other books/poems/authors/etc who have written down Norse myths? Besides Snorri, that is. Or at least an article talking about it? Even if they're post Christianity, I'd appreciate it a lot
Hi! :)
I wouldn't say I'm the expert. I'm sure there are much more knowledgeable people than I on this app. I have two master degrees, but alas, none on Norse mythology/Old Norse I'm afraid ^^'
However, I'm very interested in the subject and have been trying to educate myself by some intense reading for the past three years now, so if I can share with you the few things I've read/found out, it will be my pleasure.
There are so many books on Norse myths, but alas, not all have been written by experts/scholars/academics and you find again and again the same mistakes and generalisations. It’s so frustating! (but explains the mistakes we find in popular/mainstream media depiction of the Norse gods ^^' If their writers read THESE books, of course, they're going to write their characters like that ^^')
Now, for the GOOD, reliable sources/books :)
First of all, I must recommend Rudolf Simek’s Dictionnary of Norse mythology. He’s an expert in the domain. A lot of his works are in German, but at least, we’ve got his dictionnary. It’s a must have if you’re interest in Norse myths :)
(He has also written very interesting things about the world of LotR, if you’re into it :p )
@poeticnorth recommended me Andy Orchard’s Dictionnary of North myth and Legend, and it was fantastic and full of interesting information.
John Lindow is another great expert, and his book on Old Norse mythology is a fantastic reference too! :)
There are also A LOT of interesting academic papers on the subject of Norse mythology on the https://www.academia.edu/ website.
One of my favourites is the one about Loki as a Vatte and in Scandinavian fairytales.
”Loki, the Vätte, and the Ash Lad: A Study Combining Old Scandinavian and Late Material
ACADEMIA.EDU
The one about the Ardre images was really interesting too!!!
Re-Interpretations of Gotlandic Picture Stones Based on the Reflectance Transformation Imaging Method (RTI): Some Examples
ACADEMIA.EDU
And of course, you’ve got Professor Jackson Crawford’s work. He’s amazing and so very knowledgeable on the subject and is an expert in Old Norse. His translations of the Prose and Poectic Eddas, along with the Volsung saga are on amazon and on Audible, if you prefer.
He also did a lot of videos on youtube on Norse myths and the Old Norse language, etc.
There is also Professor of archeology Howard Williams on Tik Tok who is SUPER interesting and made a series on early Medieval Loki depictions in art and archeology.
If you want to know more about the Norse goddesses/Asynjur, may I recommend you @loptrcoptr 's brilliant master thesis on the subject. A must-read to get to know better all the goddesses from the Norse pantheon!
The Ásynjur, goddesses of old Icelandic myth, do not draw much scholarly attention. When they do it is fairly dismissive, labeling many deit
And of course, if you're into paganism and want to worship Loki & Sigyn, there's Lea Svendsen's book "Loki and Sigyn: Lessons on Chaos, Laughter & Loyalty from the Norse Gods". Really interesting!!
If I find other interesting books/sources, I'll post about them on my blog :)
Vladimir Putin’s information war in U.S. media paid off this weekend with a key victory halfway around the world.
Oliver Darcy at CNN:
Vladimir Putin’s information war in U.S. media paid off this weekend with a key victory halfway around the world.

As a Republican, Johnson is in a tough spot, politically speaking. While the Republican Party was once vehemently hawkish toward Russia, viewing the post-Soviet country as its chief adversary on the international stage, it has softened considerably in recent years and much of the party actively opposes sending additional dollars to Ukraine to continue fighting Russia.
It was little more than a decade ago when Mitt Romney, then the party’s standard-bearer, famously declared Russia to be “our number one geopolitical foe.” In the years since, the party has dramatically changed its tune on Russia. A CNN poll conducted last summer found that a staggering 71% of Republicans do not support additional aid to thwart Putin’s war on Ukraine.
Much of the GOP’s softening toward Russia is owed to a near-total reversal in rhetoric from right-wing media personalities and outlets, prompted in large part by Donald Trump’s ascension to power in GOP politics. While the biggest players in right-wing media once fervently championed the foreign policy doctrines of the neo-conservatives, they now follow in the footsteps of Trump and vehemently reject the views once held by the George W. Bush administration.
This transition is perhaps best exemplified by Tucker Carlson. The former Fox News host was once sharply critical of Putin, characterizing him in no uncertain terms as a cruel “dictator.” But in recent years, Carlson has reversed his stance, flooding the right-wing information space — which he once reigned as king over — with pro-Putin rhetoric that effectively amounts to Russian propaganda. Carlson’s stance was put on display in stark fashion recently when he traveled to Moscow to conduct a widely denounced softball chat with Putin and then proceeded to record a series of propaganda videos touting Russia’s supposed greatness.
While figures like Carlson have promoted Russia and Putin, they have simultaneously trashed Ukraine and its leader Volodymyr Zelensky, promoting conspiracy theories that the country interfered in the 2016 election and was hiding biological weapons labs. Carlson, for example, has likened Zelensky to vermin and vigorously spoken out against U.S. support for Ukraine. Right-wing commentators like Carlson have questioned why taxpayer dollars are being spent to help Ukraine defend its borders when the U.S. struggles to secure its own southern border (though a recent bipartisan bill intended to tackle both issues was rejected by hardline Republicans.)

“The GOP’s shift away from support for Ukraine shows how in the Republican Party, everything flows downstream from the obsessions and priorities of right-wing propagandists,” Matt Gertz, a senior fellow at the progressive watchdog Media Matters, told me Tuesday. “Tucker Carlson and his ilk wanted to back Putin’s invasion, their relentless lies won over the party’s base, and ultimately its elected officials have adopted their position.”
“We’ve seen this same pattern time and again: Fox News and the like take basic concepts like ‘it’s a good idea to get vaccinated against the coronavirus’ and ‘the January 6 insurrection was bad’ and turn them on their heads — and Republican elites inevitably follow,” Gertz added. “Governing based on what gets ratings for B.S. artists is no way to run a country.”
CNN's Oliver Darcy wrote in the Reliable Sources newsletter that the right-wing media's anti-Ukraine/pro-Putin disinformation campaign has had fatal consequences in the fight against Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The Republican Party and much of the right-wing commentariat were once resolutely anti-Russia; however, beginning in the 2010s that began with Vladimir Putin's enactment of anti-LGBTQ+ laws and then Russian asset Donald Trump's 2016 campaign and eventual "Presidency", the GOP shifted from anti-Russia to pro-Russia (and consequently anti-Ukraine).
After surveying many peer-reviewed sources, we have discovered that the Mountain Dew company may have predicted the Maui Wildfire and Hurricane Hillary.
A reddit post made on August 20th shows a detailed graph connecting Mountain Dew's advertising to the events, it shows the two recently added flavors, Baja Blast (2004), and Maui Burst (2019) and their correlation to Hurricane Hillary in Baja, California and the Wildfire in Maui, Hawaii. Furthermore, it was noted that DEW stands for Directed Energy Weapon, and could very well be associated with the drink.
"..Baja Blast, a California flood and a hurricane hasn’t hit in 170+ years, and then there’s one right after Maui? I’m not leaning toward coincidence" says the poster, "I‘ve never dove deep into this until Maui and other conspiracy theorists talked about it. I’ll never look at Mountain DEW the same. You’re telling me a Mountain DEW logo being a tool for predictive programming, mind games, overall conditioning, etc, is batshit crazy, but salivating at a fake & edited food menu at a fast food joint with bright ass lights blinding you and awakening your inner hunger is normal??"
This may prove the involvement of the illuminati and other groups within our commercial products.
