The downside of working with Mitsuba was that he was Mitsuba. That could mean a whole slew of things, but most recently and currently, that meant he was in the process of trying to set up a decent display to photograph. With the weather becoming hotter, Mitsuba wanted to emphasize their cooler, lighter treats; he’d prepared some iced tea, alongside a parfait. That seemed all well and good in theory, but moving back and forth to try to move things around on the table and then checking how they looked through his camera --

-- was tedious! So, he was going to make Akira help him whether he wanted to or not. What were coworkers for?

“Hmm...”

Up went the camera to his eye, trying to work out just what about the framing was really bothering him.

“Can you move the parfait a little bit to the left puh-leaaaase?”

--and down went the camera again so he could really ham up the puppy dog eyes just to make sure Akira really couldn’t wrangle himself out of this one... you know, just in case he’d wanted to try.

He can still feel them.

His fire. Dimmed, but present still. He's not so stupid to try to bring them forth now. There's only so much he knows about where he is, and he doesn't want to risk anything by being careless. For now, he wonders if there's any other Burnish stuck here. He hasn't seen anyone that he recognizes from before.

There's a sound, muffled beneath the length of distance the ball is from the ground and himself. He's on the top floor, leaning slightly out of window against the lower part of the frame, with a rubber ball he'd obtained from a — what was it called? Some kind of machine. You put in coins and it gives one. He'd recognized the kind from all that time ago, although he'd never used one before. The sound stops, suddenly. It pulls his attention downwards, and he comes to realize that he hit someone.

"Oh." He reflexively says, although only loud enough to be heard from himself, surely, from this distance. So, he says a little louder this time, "Did that hurt? I'm sorry."

🌹 Brownish eyes scanned her surroundings as she got off the car. This place, this place didn’t seem like Japan at all but the architecture around didn’t help her pin a specific place either. Still, what captured her attention wasn’t the people walking around neither the entrance to the housing area itself but the figure standing in front. Was he waiting for her? Maybe the fact that she saw their names in that phone’s contact list was a clue. What was going on?

  That which holds great importance is often times unmistakable. The “Sayuri”, for example. A constant source of inspiration, a fuel that set motion into the devotion of an artistic career, always held dear and thought on for support; never forgotten. The same could be said for his rays of hope, as he’d call them. Every detail: posture, framing, overall profile -- unmistakable!

  The moment eyes fell upon that familiar mess of hair and those same lax shoulders he’s become accustomed to for a certain individual, it was not long for quickened strides to close the distance. Consumed by confidence in self-assumption and relief for familiarity an arm was extended, hand falling subtly ( eagerly ) upon the other teens shoulder.

    “To think, even here -- ah. But I should not be surprised.” Was there even a doubt he could have possibly been mistaken? Not momentarily. “Perhaps it was fate our paths were to cross, again, here. Akira.”  /  @revealheart
