#revival of languages

So today was the day I found out that before the 19th and 20th century there were no native Hebrew speakers, which is very shocking to me, as I thought it was a normal language that has always had native speakers throughout history but apparently it has not had any for 2000 years and so they revived it.. WHAT.. it's insane to me that people are capable of reviving and language that has had no native speakers for such a long time and this is astonishing considering the number of people who speak Hebrew as a native language today.

I read ( a while ago), how they want to start a revival of the Taino language... but now I cannot find the article.. it's making me mad cause come on- how awesome would it be to participate and learn it fluently? 

To be apart of the generation to relearn and revive our language?
