"Rex," Eve began but hesitated, more because it felt so sudden. The two had just completed a mission and she was busy getting alien guts off the both of them with her powers. She eyed him, trying to figure out if he was just joking around about her powers, even though they both did their fair share tonight, or if this was something more serious that was on his mind the entire night?
For now, she opted in for the lighter possible undertones. "Last time I checked, that was your explosions, not mine, that was getting alien guts all over us." At this point she was desensitized to that kind of mess, especially when she did figure out easy ways to remove it with her abilities. She then reached up to brush some alien skin out of his hair.

David can’t see. Can’t feel. Can’t taste. Can’t – No. Not can’t. Too much. It’s too much. He feels too much. Sees too much. He can’t control it. Can’t recognise anything. Everything feels wrong but he can’t focus, can’t piece it together. It’s all too much.
This place tastes different, comes the thought but it’s swept away in the cascade of power. Lost in the pressure in his brain.
Something tipped the scale. Put one too many drops into the infinite that exists inside his mind. It’s overloading, crashing and crushing and absorbing everything in his head. He hears them screaming, the monsters, the people, the innocents in the world his mind has become. They can’t all take it. We can’t contain it. It needs an outlet. I need to release the power.
His fingers claw at his head, nails scraping scalp beneath the impossible tower of his hair. Light streams from his eyes as he drops to his knees, a silent scream pushed beyond an open mouth. David clamps his mouth shut, trying so desperately to contain this. To direct it somewhere but he can’t, and his grip is loosening. Already the ground around him is cracked and splintered. Already glass has shattered from windows and mirrors. A result of his appearance, of the reality pop that brought him to this world that doesn’t taste like his.
No no no! he manages to think as the last vestiges of his fragile control finally slip through his fingers. Please, please let no one be near me. Please!
Hands fall away. Head is thrown back. Pure light and power burst from his eyes, from his mouth. Energy surges from his body and with it comes changes. The fountain in the square twists and warps until the stone becomes metal and the water becomes liquid cheese. Light posts bend and crack and grow leaves. Animals become twisted hybrids. Some mythical, some not. The buildings closest to him elongate and tessellate into impossible geometric labyrinths. Reality warps around him. The impossible becoming probable. The imagined becoming real. Non-Euclidian space meets the solid.
And at it’s centre, at the eye of the reality storm is David. Terrified and alone all over again.
@rexxxplode asked; “that was…weird.”
i didn’t know you could do that prompts
"Which part?" For a lot had unfolded in the past few minutes, given the onset of a brawl and what it had taken to put an end to it. Emerging triumphant in the aftermath, as the dust began to settle, attention would be drawn to the bizarre looking man, dressed in a bird costume upon the floor, and the silvery thread that coiled around his form more snugly than any rope. As if that didn't appear bizarre enough, a foot was then seen hovering over the caught man, lingering for a moment before it nudged the villain just enough that he would roll over onto his front,face buried in the dirt as the same limb would come to rest upon the middle of their back.
"Are you referring to the webbing, or the fight itself?" Providing options, Miguel was poised to table questions as they were thought of and spoken aloud, demonstrating an awareness of this reality as he did so. From what could be observed, it seemed as if this world had its own collection of heroes, including, if looks were anything to go on, the stranger he'd spotted a few feet away.
"Or maybe... you're wondering where I'm from." This latest theory had trouble gaining traction. Seldom had Miguel the need to explain his intentions, but given what the both of them had just endured stop the anomaly at his feet from fleeing into the art, he felt he owed the other male a proper explanation. "Well, which is it?"
“what on earth is that thing?”
PROMPTS FOR THE ONE WHO QUESTIONS EVERYTHING
"It's not obvious...?" Eve hesitantly asked. If she needed a blunt opinion, Rex was the one to go to. Currently she was trying to push her powers further, make more complex objects from simple things. Things that could function was the goal, but so far it was a rough time.
"I was trying to make a hair dryer." Instead it looked like some sci-fi gun mixed with a landline telephone. In her eyes, she could clearly see what parts of it looked like a hair dryer, but now the longer she looked at it after Rex's comment, she could see it definitely did not look like that.
She let out a groan then, her head meeting her hands. "How can I have these powers but not visualize what a hair dryer looks like?" Not that she ever planned on using one in a fight, but it was the thought that counted. What if she had to make something complex on short notice? What then if she can't make every day items to begin with?
