Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t skateboarding?
A: I’m not too sure what I would be doing if I wasn’t skateboarding but I’m always thankful that I got to skateboarding because of what I’m doing now. Cause if I hadn’t gotten into it I think I could have been one of those girls that just like to dress up in nice little dresses and get a tan and get drunk. I’m glad I’m actually doing something better with my time.
Q: What first inspired you to skate?
A: My brother used to rollerblade and all his friends skated and he used drag me down to the skatepark to watch all his new tricks and stuff. I always thought skating looked really cool.
Q: Do you think there’s a big difference in getting into skating between girls and boys?
A: Yeah I think there is, cause it obviously is male dominated at the skateparks. Girls may feel a bit afraid to go down there but at the same time I think it depends on your personality as a girl as well. If you're very confident at young age then you won’t mind going skating with older boys but if you’re more of a shy girl then it can seem a little bit daunting.
Q: How does skating affect your personality?
A: It made me a lot more of a social person. I’m a lot better at social situations than when I was a bit younger. It boosts my confidence.
Q: And how do you skateboarding scene progressing in ten years from now?
A: At the moment I think it's gonna go quite mainstream. There’s a lot of media coverage now. It's good on one side but on the other it may change the dynamics since skateboarding has always been this underground, not mainstream thing.
